Skin on skin contact , the smoothness , the warmth, always super comforting. Then again its like soooo hard to find someone you can trust with REGULAR cuddling. My best friend and I used to cuddle, but then she couldn't control herself anymore so i just stopped outright hugging or touching her. Completely ruined the friendship. Thats why im totally hoping I find an ace friend in Florida sometime. I agree; naked cuddling is nice, for all the tactile sensations listed. But, yeah, it's kinda hard to cuddle that way without having the other party getting too excited for my taste. Oh, and in reference to all the tub stuff, washing another person is a really intimate way to touch. Just sayin'... Yes. I wish I could cuddle with my boyfriend, but he's in the US, and I'm in Canada. Distance is hard. Irony. I'm in Canada, my girlfriend is in the US. I feel your pain. It's really bad cravings tonight, worse than usual. It's pretty bad a lot lately but tonight it is very very bad. U-shaped body pillow with extra pillows tucked up under it, a teddy bear, and blankies for me. If I imagine hard enough, it kind of is like I'm snuggled up on someone. I require that (at least) one of us wear underpants (usually with me, the girl wears the pants - seems more comfortable for both of us) and if she has breasts larger than A-cups I'm most comfortable with her wearing a T-shirt too. Otherwise, yes, even people who have understood and agreed to what is and isn't acceptable tend to find their hormonal urges fight them. If it's pre-sleep cuddles and it's keeping them awake, then non-naked cuddles are far more optimal.When people started talking about cuddling in "the tub" I was really confused. Where I'm from, the only thing that comes in tubs is margarine. Only when someone mentioned the bath did I get the reference! You can totally have non-sexual cuddles in the shower or bath - but only when you choose your companion carefully and have seen them to be trustworthy with access to your body over time already. Anyway, since the chance of anyone finding a compatible ace partner is one to million or something like that, and if you have the need for non-sexual physical closeness, then pay up if there is no other way to get what you want :) Demeaning? I bet. Unheard of? Probably not. There are lots of people who might have different non-sexual or sexual needs for closeness, and they pay a visit to escorts or prostitutes every once in a while. I think the question here is that how bad your need for physical closeness is. If it's manageable, you might be able to forget about it. If it's really bad, well... :) I'm sorry, but I just decided to offer a solution that I'd see realistic. I think it's more about the connection with the person you're cuddling with than what they look like, for me. I'm not too sure how it happened, but we are very physically close. We'll hug lots, hold hands lots and kiss lots during the day (his boyfriend isn't too happy about this, my my friend told me to let him deal with the bf, he's very much 'friends come first before boys'.), and at night when we have sleep overs we'll share a bed and just cuddle up and watch a movie or talk. Nothing sexual what so ever. Just a very cuddly friendship, which I love. I love having his warmth there and being able to feel his heart beat and hear his breathing, which sounds creepy, but it's just really soothing. My other best friend is also gay, but we've never slept at each others house before, he finds it difficult to make himself comfortable at other peoples houses enough to stay over night, and I strongly dislike his parents too much to stay over night, although I've been invited a few times. But during the day we're quite physically close too. Also the times he does come to my house during the day, we'll snuggle up in my bed to watch movies or snuggle up on the couch.
