Shaved Genitals

I'm a male and I like to shave (everything, accept my head) because I love that smooth feeling. If only the bodily hair would be soft like the hair I have on my head. It would feel comfy to stroke my legs, but no! its groovy and stiff. If the hair on my head was of the same type as the pubic hair I would shave it all away! Shaving is a matter of taste according to me, there is no right way.

Do what works for you!

Power to the individual!

If ya like, do! If not, you don't!

Simple Solution <3

When I first went through puberty, I refused to shave *anything.* I didn't see why I should have to; it was all completely natural, after all. But I caught a lot of crap from my middle-school classmates about that, especially my armpits, so I eventually started shaving my armpits and legs just so they'd leave me alone. I refused to do anything about my eyebrows or the hair on my upper lip until my senior year of high school, but I haven't turned back since I started waxing those. It just makes me feel a whole lot better about my appearance in general to keep up with those things, and my legs actually start to get itchy if I go too long without shaving them.

As for *down there,* it didn't occur to me for years and years that I should shave down there. I have done it a couple of times, but it was super uncomfortable and I thought it looked really creepy, so I stopped. Nowadays I'll trim from time to time, and I'll shave my bikini line if I'm planning on wearing a swimsuit, but other than that, no one's going to see it, so who cares?

Personally I'd rather keep everything natural so I don't shave. Although I do shave my face!

I see no need to shave because no one will be seeing it anyway, hopefully!

I usually shave my underarms once they start to annoy me. I shave my legs only if I know I'm going to be wearing shorts (basically all of summer). I used to trim my genitals, but I fell out of the habit and now I only mess with it if I'm wearing a swimsuit. If society didn't tell me to shave, I'd probably just let it go completely. I just don't feel like dealing with social criticism on a subject that I could care less about.

Exactly how I feel xD Well said! Here's some :cake: :)

I'll just add that it would be nice to have my genitals removed completely, not just the hair on them.

Agreed. I like the hair because it covers up that stuff.

I hate it how girls are supposed to shave to look "sexy", and guys don't have to. Like, does that make any sense? So guys can just be bushy, and not even trim down there, and we can't? Sorry but thats fucked up. On the other hand (I know I'm contradicting myself here 8)) , I rather would shave or wax or something, because I like to be hairless. I'm scared I might get infected down there. I tried shaving, but how the hell do you get a razor in uhhh...certain places? It itches, and grows back in just a couple days! So...thats kind of on hold until I can work up the courage to get wax...

Some guys shave down there too. I'm not sure how expected it is, for males or females really, but I just thought I'd mention that.

It's pretty expected for females, thanks to the prevalence and 'success' of the porn industry. Now most males will refuse to have sex with someone who doesn't shave, and will find it 'repulsive'. Men, on the other hand, aren't really expected because 'it itches' and 'it's difficult' and basically... everything that means a woman shouldn't have to do it, either. Of course, male genitals are extremely ugly already, so I think they're the ones who should get rid of the bush...

I also find the terminology of 'landing strip' extremely offensive... anyone else?

I knew that there was a bit more of an expectation for women to shave, but is it seriously that prominent that many men won't have sex with them? I'm not the most sexually experienced person I'm sure, but I have been active with a few different partners and, aside from a stated preference one way or another, its never been an issue for me whether or not I was shaved. Maybe that has to do with being in the context of a committed relationship (with all but 1 of said partners) I'm not sure. Has anyone else had that experience?

Woops, I didn't mean most, I meant some. Some men will refuse sex with unshaved women. And even those who don't say anything one way or another will often complain about it - just not to the person they're having sex with.

People should be happy just because someone actually wants to share a sexual experience with them... What about the interpersonal connection between two individuals or more? Shouldn't that matter more? Don't want to be judgemental but I cant help but feeling... Its shallow.

Doesn't matter for me, shaved or not...

Ah ok, makes much more sense now. Then again, some men will refuse to have sex with woman who don't have big enough breasts or who weigh more than a certain weight and some women aren't any better in that regard. Its all a matter of personal preference, I guess.

I have never shaved my pubic hairz.... having a sharp blade down there just seems like a not good idea for someone as clumsy as I am. Plus it's a lot harder to see what you're doing I would assume. I do kind of wish I didn't have much hair down there but I keep it as clean as possible. In that sense I figure it's not all that unhygienic. As long as it's kept clean. Plus I wouldn't be able to stand itching down there! And I don't intend to show anyone that area anytime soon (even when I wear a swimsuit I wear shorts over it since I feel more comfortable that way). And even if I did, I would probably not shave it anyway. I'd be way too scared of cutting myself.

But then, I hardly ever shave my legs. Yes, I do know that it feels really nice, but it's just too much of a hassle for me to do when people only rarely see my legs anyway. I wear pants probably 335 days out of the year... and the other 35 are usually special occasions (going swimming or it's really hot and I want to wear shorts). The one time I was shaving my legs regularly was when I was in a tennis class where we were required to wear shorts every day.

I wish there wasn't a stigma against females having hairy legs. If men can get away with it, we should be able to as well! though I admit that hairless legs are nicer on both women and men... there still shouldn't be a stigma.

I do shave my armpits most of the time though, just because I have gotten used to that and it feels nicer than having a bush or pricklies in there.

It's like a trimmed pube mohawk.

And, @ original quoted person, I find it very insulting that you state that male gentials are very ugly. They look fine to me, very well designed for their job. Female genitals, on the other hand, look... messy to my eyes.

I don't know why you find it insulting... they are. But I shall correct myself: female genitals are hideous too. I was only thinking of how it looks standing up, or with legs closed, because I never really see the rest of it. From the front, it's not so bad. And men aren't messy? Is that why you need socks and tissues?

(Also if a good deal of your 'experience' with vaginas is from pornography, we aren't really dripping with lube and man-juice all the time. Actually it's pretty clean down there.)

It might be my heterosexuality rearing it's head, but I find female genitalia beautiful and male genitalia...not necessarily "ugly" but not beautiful either. I'm fine with the penis, but the "whole package" just looks a little weird.

Being hairless is functional, so far as I am concerned. If you are having sex, it's gonna be messy down there. Add in two bunches of hair and it just gets that much messier.

FWIW, I am trimmed close but not shaved (actually shaved on certain areas) because, even though I've only had sex once in the past two years, I still convince myself that "it could happen" any day now. And the wife has told me (years ago) she prefers me to be shaved, but that stubble is a huge no-no down there. My southern stubble is irritating to her. Hence, just a really close trim.

 I don't think I've ever told anybody about my manscaping.

I don't particularly find anything appealing in either male or female genitals. Most everything else about the human body I can find something appealing about, but for some reason whenever I see genitals I just kind of think ick.

I've never found a guy's parts appealing at all. Ick :P

As for a girl... maybe mine is just especially terrifying or something, because I've started to find it uglier and uglier. I don't know how I could take it being attached to me for 16 years XD

Because the plane sees the landing strip from afar and then it knows exactly where it is suppose to be heading? I dunno. I've never heard the term before either. I find it funny though!

I like term "treasure trail" too. But that's used for men, not women. And it refers to the hair growing above the actual pubic hair... like a treasure trail from the belly to the "loot", haha!

Anyhooo, to stay on topic, I have never shaved all of my pubic hairs off. I think that would just feel too odd. I guess the most accurate way to put it, is that I try to keep a landing strip down south  I have crazy Harry Potter'esque hair however (both body hair and head hair) so shaving, or keeping a short haircut, is always a losing battle with nature.

I think it is surely because of your heterosexuality. I can´t understand what is beautiful about female genitalia. Thanks gods for "landing stripes"!

And it is because of my heterosexuality...Wait! What? Sexuality? Rather because of my grayness of my aceness, that I find male genitalia cute. The whole package. Shaved or trimmed ones look much more better than hairy. Only erected penis makes me feel like: "omg, nooo! It will hurt!" :o It seems to me "mission impossible" to get something so big into so small hole.

And you didn´t have to tell us... You could insert a photo. ;)

I've never shaved anything south of my neck. Though I shave my face nearly daily and I've often shaved my head bald (as I rather like the tactile sensation of a naked skull), the rest of the pelt has pretty much remained intact, save where injury warrants clearing a patch for the convenient application and removal of a bandage.

During my rare sexual encounters, I must admit that I find shaved female genitalia to have much more tactile appeal than unshaved and makes giving oral sex far less unpleasant.

And that is a perfect example of the unfairness women are subjected to in this society. Men are programmed to think that un-hairy, childish looking genitals are more attractive than the natural thing. Wait, what does oral sex have to do...never mind. I dont think I want to know.

Maybe this isn't a common view for asexuals, but I don't find genitalia disgusting. I don't necessarily want someone else's genitals near my person, but they're cool-looking in a way. I agree with the person who compared them to abstract art. :P
