Shaved Genitals

Does anyone here actually have either trimmed or completely shaved pubic areas? I was just curious as it seems that the trend for both men and women who model nude, or even in general shave themselves below! To me I find it cleaner and yes I shave my privates as it is easier to shower and looks as well as feels nicer!

Is there anyone who thinks that shaving is weird too, or any one who is either a female or gender nuetral who feels freedom from not shaving! I knew of some girls who did not like being told that women must shave their legs and armpits and simply do it for liberation!

I HATE shaving, granted I am not hairy but I hate shaving in general. I like the way I am and I hate to have to please anyone.........that is why i was single for quite some time. Go liberation! But now I do have someone.......i still dread shaving....thank god for good genes such as clean legs and arms.......all naturally hairless! ;)

I hate shaving anything, though I do shave my face because having facial hair is worse. Feels odd.

I don't shave my balls though. I do know someone who did once, and his reply was "it burned like hell. Don't do it" I'm guessing he did it wrong though :P Not sharp enough of a razor maybe.

Still, not gonna do it.

BTW I find it hilariously ironic that the poster before me says he doesn't manscape, and his picture is "bad fur day".

Lulz.

I shaved myself once a few months ago. It was horrible, I itched constantly until it grew back.

Personally I see no reason to shave unless it's medically necessary or if for some reason you want to. I don't think doing it to be more appealing/attractive to other people is a valid reason, especially when one partner makes/wants the other shave because they think pubic hair is 'gross'- not sexy. I agree that being shaved looks good, but it really ticks me off that not shaving is 'disgusting', especially for women. (The joys of double standards.) So basically, I will shave my legs if I'm wearing skirts or shorts because I will get dirty looks from *everyone* otherwise, but I won't shave under any other condition.

It's not terribly likely that I'll be dating anytime soon (I'd like to, but I'm not motivated to do anything about it yet), but if someone can't tolerate my hair, they're out. Only children who haven't gone through puberty are naturally bald down below, so the idea that a hair crotch is a 'turn off' is unreasonable at best. <_< I don't want to date someone who can't tolerate my body in it's natural state.

Edit: To clarify, since I put my foot in my mouth a lot: If someone does something like shaving or dressing a certain way to please their partner because they want to, I see no problem there. It's their right, it's one of many small gestures people make to help or maintain their relationship. One partner forcing the other to conform to their idea of what's sexy is what I'm against.

I've attempted to shave down in that area before, and it does look nicer. It also is really annoying to do, and I've cut myself quite a few times.

Sexual male here. I don't shave and rarely trim. And I don't think shaved/waxed pubes are sexy on a partner, either - to me it just looks creepily pre-pubescent. Trimmed is fine, but bald really doesn't do it for me. If my partner wanted to shave/wax (she doesn't) then I guess I'd get used to it, but I wouldn't see it as a plus.

I just shaved today, after hearing about so many other people doing it.

I didn't shave it all off, but most of it.

Though it feels strange.

So I don't plan on doing too often, unless I get used to the way it feels.

thank god for guys like you, my ex was like that too......he thought bald parts are too "youthful" if you get what I mean. Plus, some guys thinks partially trimmed parts are actually aesthetically pleasing.

I personally have been shaved myself since first hair made it to my body, for hygiene reasons the most, I never cared what other think I just did (and do) for myself,

Arm pits, legs and genitalia all shaved everyday, it is just a routine for me and I like the feeling of smooth skin, I'm tempted to start shaving my arms too, but I haven't really cared to find the best way to remove them from my arms.

By Saving everyday I also avoid the itching effect. Plus I'm good with scissors

I trim pubes as they get in my way if left unmown. My legs and upper definite no. I am relatively fine- haired kind of hairy but it really does not bother me. Arm pit hair does and I wax it because I find it so unnecessary and heavy. MY chest is too sensitive to get rid of the few hairs there but I would like to one day if I can get some nerve blockers to kill the pain temporarily.

I just shave the bikini line but even that I hate. I get razor burn so easily and I just prefer not to deal. Sometimes, I'll trim when I feel like it. (i.e. when I decide to give in and let the boyfriend have some)

I find it a bit bizarre that people think having shaved pubic hair looks better. I mean why would you prefer someone to look like a child than a fully grown adult, hair and all? There is some weird cultural stuff going on here, it's like people finding women's legs more attractive if they are shaved, I don't believe for one second that's true and find shaved women particularly unappealing, I think we're conditioned to think this is attractive despite how odd it is.

Also how exactly is shaving your body hair more hygenic and cleaner that leaving it be? Surely cleanliness is about how much you wash? Are you just conflating how something looks with scientific truth about how something is?

I think it's a good exercise in challenging your own perceptions of beauty and normality to leave your body hair to grow at least once in your life. I find it pretty sad that some people feel like they have to constantly modify their body just to be comfortable in it.

I totally 100% agree with the shaved pubic hair being strange. I can't stand the way I look. I go from 26 to 12. I wish I never would've started shaving. If I were to stop shaving now, my hair would be much thicker.. I stopped shaving my arms and the hair is darker but I suppose I could always bleach it back to my normal hair color.. I would love to do as you say and just grow it all out once, just to see not only how I react, but how friends and my boyfriend react.. Hmm..

Also, to add to your point about cleanliness.. I would assume it would be the same principle as your head hair. You wash it and then it is clean. Plus, isn't hair biologically designed to keep you not only warm, but to keep dirt and such from contaminating your body? Now I will be pondering this all day..

Yes I shave  Not because I think it looks nice, but because it feels more comfortable, and I don't know why but it makes me feel more comfortable with my body, I've never liked hairy bodies.

If you shave once like that, it will itch the first couple of times, the skin needs to get used to it.

I still itch every freaking time I shave. I think it's my body's way of telling me to just go ahead and be a naturalist and knock it off. ;)

I itch when the hair starts to grow back, which is when I know its time to shave. Like Feline I shave because its more comfortable and I dislike hairy bodies. The only hair I want is on my head thank you!

My SO has a hairy bum and its one of the most disgusting things i've ever seen, if I was capable of sexual attraction it'd probably be a turnoff!

Actually thats a lie, I do have a landing strip. After all I rather not look like a prepubescent girl.

I'll admit that I do, always have. I've just always been a bit squicked by body hair (on anybody, not just me), and would much rather not be hairy anywhere except on my head.

since I brought up the cleanliness and hygiene issue up, I do wash everyday thank you very much, actually shaving is my bathing routine.

When winder I used to left the armpit hair to grow, and I figured out that my deodorant didn't work as much as with hairless armpit, Also you compare the hair on your head with arm pit hair and public hair. Head hair is out in the open always, public hair and arm pit hair are mostly locked between clothes.

because of sweat and more warmth it gets smelly easier. When I wear a bonnet the whole day, at the end of he day my hair gets smelly even though is being washed also everyday.

I won't comment on you don't find a reason to shave, because it's a matter of taste, I personally prefer hairless skin.

Feels the same way :cake:

According to Animal Atlas, hair and fur are the same thing, it's just we humans decided to seperate humans from the rest of the animal population by saying we have 'hair' and they have 'fur'. But they are terms that can be used interchangeably. Ah, my head and it's useless information-ness.

I wasn't assuming that you don't wash everyday! And I shave my legs and armpits, too, I just sometimes wish I never would've started but I recognize that it is something the majority of the population may find more attractive and I probably would've felt awkward in PE when changing because all the other girls would've been like WTF? I wouldn't care much now, though.. I firmly believe in to each their own!

FWIW I prefer shaved genitals (landing strips are ok, too), but I don't prefer it out of a conscious attraction to anything pre-pubescent. I take offense to the inference that people who enjoy shaved genitals are pedophiles.

I don't think people who enjoy shaved genitals are pedophiles. I just don't like the way it looks on me because I feel like I look like a kid, that's all. Some people just don't like body hair. I gets that. I feel like I am offending people unintentionally today..

No offence intended on my part. My preference is just my preference, but my mental association with youth is what puts me off it, not aesthetics. But I'm sure not everyone makes that mental association - from the state of modern porn I'm absolutely certain most people find it a turn-on.
