I really don't think it would be fair for anyone to be forced/encouraged to step down from their spot because we're all there for a reason. We were chosen in part by the community and the whole idea of a collab channel is usually a group of people who are around for awhile and you get to know. Obviously if someone can't do it anymore, then it'd be cool to have a spot open up for someone who has time/enthusiasm for it, but like... encouraging people to step down doesn't bode well with me. I wouldn't feel comfortable with anyone in the cast people sort of asked to step down because someone wants their spot. Well, said. I agree. However, I am in absolute full support of the idea of guest vloggers. I think maybe we should get together a list of people interested in guest vlogging and when one of us knows we can't make a video in a given week or we'd like to see someone else make a video for it, then we can go to the list and ask in advance if someone who showed interest would like to vlog in that spot. So, I take it that, instead of replacing Rawrdom with one person, we could have that spot be filled by a guest vlogger each week? This is a great idea! :D Hmm, since the spot in question is right at the beginning of the week, I like the idea of just giving the guest carte blanche to talk about anything they wanted to talk about, rather than having them address the topic of the week. This way, they could submit their video as a "private video" any time in the previous week, then Arne, or someone else with video editing experience, could download the mp4, add title cards and into music, if desired, then re-upload it on Monday. As someone who is loving watching the channel (keep up the good work guys!) I fully support this. It would be nice to see some other opinions thrown in the mix, but one of the great things about collabs like this is that I get to look forward to the faces and personalities every day! It would also be a lot simpler than holding auditions again. And, when someone does step down for whatever reason, there would already be a set of "audition" like videos to choose a permanent replacement from. Link to post Share on other sites

It does not have to be the only collab channel. Instead of everyone waiting for a spot on here, post your own vlog. Be your own vlog. Start another collab channel. Get out there and rock it! kakkobean Posted June 16, 2010 Share Posted June 16, 2010 Alright, a summary of the channel's status and situation/scenarios with the "empty slot" as it were: Currently 11 vloggers active We are interested in having more people on the channel, debating between a.) filling in vlogg spot with another round of auditions or b.) holding a rotating vlogger idea So! Do we a.) have an established pool of vloggers to fill in the empty days that we can call upon based on their availability, b.) have people submit videos in response to the topic we've decided on and pick our favorite amongst the group (no set persons filling the space), or c.) accept multiple videos for filling in spots each week, and going over 12 videos per week? Okay, so the plan is: we have various interested parties submit videos a.) to one of the 11 vloggers currently active or b.) on the channel but listed as private until the vloggers confer and decide to de-privatize said video, or c.) as a video response to one of the videos during the week, and then we post links to the videos we particularly like on the facebook and twitter? Now the question is: does the person/persons/various people submitting a video responding to/on/as/etc/each week's empty spot have to directly connect to the topic, OR as some people have complained about monotony, have it be the "breath of fresh air" kind of thing where they talk about whatever they want regarding asexuality/things possibly relating to the topic that aren't strictly asexual issues? Speaking of a fan of HPOA, I always sigh a little when Sunday comes round, because theres nothing there, I was thinking maybe Sunday could be the guest vlog day. Some people may think you've got too many people already but hell I'd go for 14 vlogs a week. Now the overly complicated course of action when picking guest vloggers, I think the best way is to leave it to chance. No one wants to sit through 20 guest vlog videos and pick their favourite...? I think an exciting idea would be all potential guest vloggers put there name down, it's put in a hat, one vlogger pulls out the names "live" on webcam and they'll be the one to do that topic. Of course this could bring up problems like what if the person picked has nothing to add to the discussion... but I don't think any way you'll go about it will be absolutly perfect. I have an idea for the YouTube page that is to have an introductory video on the front page, one that plays as soon as you go on the channel page. Doesn't have to be special or amazing but nice, simple and just an introduction to asexuality for confused people. I'd especially like to hear from the viewers what you want us to talk about! Also, would it be cool if like once every couple months or so, we don't really have a topic, but each user spends that week answering perhaps some viewer submitted questions? Gender is something I happen to have thought a great deal about over the years, so I'd really like to vlog about it, :) But I know even if we don't discuss it right away this coming week, we'll get around to it eventually. It would be good if next week was about coming out, since it's something we should probably cover early on, and after that I think it would be nice to do gender. It would be good, I think, to do it like this: 10 A topic closely related to asexuality; 20 A topic more loosely related to asexuality; 30 GOTO 10. Um, sorry, I have a Programming exam today. Although the majority of viewers right now will be from our community there may be a lot more in the future who decide to watch them all from the beginning. I think if we (I don't know why i'm saying 'we' - i'm not the one doing this amazing thing ) jump in too quickly with other stuff people may end up a little confused. Awesome topic ideas, though, especially gender and friendship *is excited* An idea (which may have been mentioned already - I prob haven't read all the posts): A topic on the relationship (or lack of relationship) between asexuality and HSDD may be good, particularly seeing as they're just bringing out this whole 'viagra for women' which is hot topic right now. And if anyone's stuck - that's exactly what I wrote a literature review on for my psychology degree so feel free to ask me for it ;) HSDD/Asexuality that is... And also to that other idea about an introduction for the rest of the world, which I think I already suggested on facebook or in one of the other threads (but I'm not so sure right now).
