Salt Shaker
I have trouble watching some movies that are just completely full of sex. Every once in a while I want to watch a PG-13 or R rated movie that doesn't rely on its sex appeal to gain an audience. Soooo... List the movies here that are asexy friendly!! I just saw the new Clash of the Titans and to my surprise there wasn't any promiscuous Greek sex... Except for one scene where it just shows two people nude laying in a bed for a moment and then cuts away. Overall, I rather liked it (the whole movie).
cookie91
Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (I'm sorry, really, I can't think of many) Saw 1, Saw 2. etc The Boy in the Striped Pajamas
Jazmin
Try watching "Pan's Labyrinth". It's a spanish film, but they have english subtitles. Kind of an artsy fantasy/imaginary journey/dark fairytale. I loved that movie, but then again I like films that are kind of dark. Dunno if it's your taste. It doesn't have romance or sex in it since the protagonist is a young girl. I wouldn't call it a kid's movie though. Otherwise, anything disney, perhaps?
asexual cake
Withnail and I is an old(ish) British film about two egotistical failed actors living in squalor and depravity in the '60s. It has been called "the" asexy film.
Fish That Swims
The Fall very, very ace friendly and even aromanitc friendly Maybe my all-time favorite movie. Visually stunning, excellent performances, compelling characters... <-------is even a screenshot
marusian
Most anything on Zomboo's House of Horror Movies will be asexy-friendly. Zomboo's House of Horror Movies is a local Saturday late-night show that shows really silly/low budget/corny movies (all public domain), mostly horror or suspense movies. You can see a bunch of the movies they've had on the show in the first drop-down menu here (it's where they sell DVDs of the shows). Last night, they had The Last Man on Earth, starring Vincent Price as the title character. They also show some fun Mexican horror movies, which are definitely asexy-friendly. prettyeyes
Well, it depends on the genre you like and what you consider ace-friendly. For example, in a lot of horror films the promiscuous characters get killed first and that could be ace-friendly I guess. But films with no sex... Horror: I Am Legend Many horror films from the 50s/60s if you like cheesy horror Stephen King's It 28 Days Later (There's a scene with nudity in the beginning but nobody has sex, lol) Silence of The Lambs Comedy: Your best bet is wacky comedy, imo, or children's films since a good deal of comedy films revolve around sexual jokes. Romance: Don't watch romance. It's bad for your teeth.
Topher
Romance. It's bad for your teeth. I'm disobeying all rules of quoting and referencing by cutting important words from what you said to obscure your meaning (my lecturers would kills me) - but i feel those words calling to me as a signiture!  In terms of asexy friendly, it depends on what you mean. If you are wanting films that entirely avoid sex (and snogging and relationships etc.) then the field narrows somewhat (apart from films already mentioned, like Pan's Labyrinth - I love that film!), but if you just mean in the sense that they avoid sex scenes or having romance as a main plotline then there are a few more to choose from. A couple of suggestions I would have off the top of my head are The Wave and Amelie. Yeah they're both foreign language films (but they're really good!) Okay, The Wave has one kiss scene and Amelie is sort of a romance, but certainly asexy-friendly to say the least. It has perhaps 2 incredibly brief (and  -worthy) sex scenes. PS. if someone would kindly tell me how to creat a 'spoiler' box around that I will go back and edit it. Sorry for anyone reading who wouldn't have opened that spoiler box... Otherwise, there's: -Sweeney Todd -Star Wars! -The X-men film franchise! -Alice in Wonderland
mindsword
besides the ones mentioned, not much comes to mind. if we're avoiding relationships, then nada. if relationships are okay, then I suggest an Internet movie, Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog. Its technically a movie and no sex at all. also very catchy songs.
------
Stephen King's It Avoid the book at all costs if you don't want sex. Harvey 12 Angry Men (Aromantic friendly) It's a Wonderful Life Brief Encounter Rope Yes, I am just listing films that were made before showing sex was allowed. Batman Back to the Future Bring it On Cool Runnings Garden State Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind Little Miss Sunshine (Aromantic friendly - excluding one married couple but there's no romance) Leon Lilo and Stitch (Aromantic friendly) Perfume (no sex but you see some beautiful naked ladies and one very short allusion to sex) The Sound of Music Wizard of Oz (Aromantic friendly) Spaceballs Robin Hood: Men in Tights Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure One Of Our Dinosaurs Are Missing St Trinian's Series (1954 is best) Men In Black Catch-22 Yellow Submarine Am I done yet? P is for...
Withnail and I is an old(ish) British film about two egotistical failed actors living in squalor and depravity in the '60s. It has been called "the" asexy film. one of my favorite movies ever. and surely one of the funniest. (i appreciate the diplomatic "ish", Pugnacioun, considering i first saw the film in its original theatrical run...) the original version of The Haunting is also superb (avoid the remake at all costs), as is The Innocents (arguably the best film adaptation of The Turn of the Screw); both films have a bit of creepy innuendo if you're tuned in to that sort of thing (i am, because, um, i like it), but in both cases it's so subtle that if you blink, you miss it. i would also recommend any comedies with Jimmy Stewart as a safe bet (i started to say "anything with..." and then remembered a few things like Anatomy of a Murder that might come back to bite me...), and there's the perennially wonderful Arsenic and Old Lace as well. Elo
I'm so happy to see some of my favourite movies come up here. Excellent taste! Pan's Labyrinth and the Fall, as mentioned. I also like Mirrormask, V for Vendetta, How to steal a Million and too many others to even draw to mind.
knout
I'm fairly sure Pi would qualify as ace friendly
Quiz Kid
A lot of M Night Shyamalan's films would seem fit into that catagory, I'm thinking of The Sixth Sence, Signs, The Village (even though that one was prity bad). I think he's more concerned with atmosphre messing with peoples heads.
Topher
That's a point. Shyamalan's Lady in the Water could also easily be counted. (Not an amazing film, but didn't quite deserve the harsh criticism it got, in my opinion..)
infinityandbeyond
On one hand I think a film like zack and miri make a porno, utterly hilarious..but something like basic instinct a load of boring rubbish, both because of the sexual themes. I think it's the way it's handled.

prettyeyes
Interesting how "asexual friendly movies" essentially equates to "crap films". Being a bad movie fan, I think I will add that "Plan 9 From Outer Space" and "Santa Claus and The Ice Cream Bunny" don't have sex in them (Though Santa does act unintentionally like a pervert in the second one when he gets excited over a sheep).
Guest fridayoak
Interesting how "asexual friendly movies" essentially equates to "crap films". Sorta see what you mean but probably a bit harsh as there's been mentions of Withnail and I, Pan's Labrynth, 28 days Later (though actually don't the army take the women for sex, can that be asexy friendly, they don't actually have sex though do they?), It's a Wonderful Life, 12 Angry Men, Garden State Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Pi Little Miss Sunshine, Leon (ok the majority of these were by one poster but still). I'm gonna go think of some others...
prettyeyes
28 days Later[/i] (though actually don't the army take the women for sex, can that be asexy friendly, they don't actually have sex though do they?) They do but it's not even mentioned what they plan to do with them and I was rather confused about it until later on. They never actually have sex, just make the women put on evening gowns which was kind of wtf-ish.
Guest fridayoak
Oh yeah, I couldn't remember if they actually did or not, it's been a few years since I've seen it. I'm not really that bothered by sex in films usually, as long as it's part of the stroryline and not just sex for the sake of sex.

Salt Shaker
2001: A Space Odyssey would seem to fit the bill. BLARGH Excuse me. I just threw up a little. I just fail to see why that movie is any good. I understand at the time it was WOW-EE and film students might love the hell out of it, but to me it's just a boring movie... Speaking of SPACED OUT movies I suggest Moon. It's from 2009 and only about an hour and a half long. It's not amazing, but it's interesting and I love supporting indy films. Guest fridayoak
It's hard to remember whether films have any sex/ sexual references in. I'll add Stand By Me for now as an example of young frienship-based love. Lost In Translation GhostWorld, American Splendour, Magnolia, Man on the Moon, Ghost Town, 49 Steps (in-fact most Hitchcock films are great) Charlie Chaplin films (I reccomend Modern Times, City Lights)...correct me if there's any sex in any of these (I know there's sexual references in some, in fact he goes to a brothel in Man on the Moon I think, my memory is terrible) I'm sure there's plenty more that I might add at another time. Of course there are good "asexual friendly movies" (much as I despise such a term), just the majority of stuff on here aren't. Sturgeon's Law: Most movies aren't "good", and many people (for whatever reason) enjoy/recommend movies that aren't "good". So, if a random sample of movies happen to be "asexual friendly", most of them aren't going to be "good", either - unless there's some magical relationship between quality and asexual friendliness that you're positing - so one would expect statistically that they'll have about the same quality to non-quality ratio as movies in general. Which means many of them will be crap and a few of them will be good. It's quite different from asexual friendliness equating to crap. *dances with statistics*
Guest fridayoak
I think the point was more that there is a higher percentage of decent, intelligently made mature films that have some sex scenes in than those that don't. But of course it's subjective.
KieranTheWerewolf42
I'm quite fond of Apollo 13. I don't think there's any sex in that. Also, Constantine is pretty good too.
