I will join in on this. I guess I will go from now until March next year, because I have read a lot this year, but have already forgotten most of the books I actually read.

8.) The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes- Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (being a huge fan of the BBC show Sherlock, and the Granada adaptation of the books, I finally started rading the canon. I've already read The Sign of Four and A Study in Scarlet, both of which are amazing. The short stories in this collection did not disappoint. Conan Doyle may not have liked Holmes much, but it didn't affect his writing, I loved the stories so much!)

9) The Picture of Dorian Gray- Oscar Wilde (can't believe I've never read any Wilde before. The man is a genius. I can see why this is his only novel though. He gets a bit distracted by things that aren't important to the plot at times. Still, once he drags himself back to the plot it's a VERY good one. Fabulous story. And he's such a romantic writer too. It's quite lovely.)

ive been really lazy with my reading for the last year or so but if I can cheat and say the books I read in the month or 2 before Christmas my list would be as follows:

1. halo: the cole protocol

2. halo: contact harvest

3. assassins creed the secret crusade

4. assassins creed revelations

5. assassins creed forsaken

currently im juggling two books namely assassins creed blackflag and the man who loved a polar bear and ive got another 4 books lined up after them (another halo book and 3 dr who books) and I may give darrens shans demonata series a re read which is another 10 books if I remember rightly and I can go through his books really quickly for some reason and I got a hankering to re read the hobbit so I have a nice list to go through for the next 2 months or so

Highly unlikely I'll be reading 50 this year. I used to read all the time. Now I hardly ever read books, due to a combination of being busy with other things and a severe lack of mental energy. I have read two so far, though.

1. Vive la Revolution - Mark Steel

2. The Ocean at the End of the Lane - Neil Gaiman

(This may be slightly off-topic. I am a voracious reader and at my school we had a reading competition to see who could read 50 books first. It was supposed to last 2 terms but I was leaving in 5 weeks and I really wanted to win, so I read 50 books in 5 weeks. I'm not going to list all 50 here!)

i am happy to have both "burial rites" and "the lowland" finished as both of these are nominated for the baileys prize for fiction (which is open only to female authors). the winner from the short list of 6 will be announced tomorrow. of the shortlist, i read two others and the only two i don't have are the two irish nominees. although, the award had no decision power over me as i had got all the books before the shortlist was announced.
