Update: I actually read a book before I finished that, so so far we've got:

1. Grifonía: la orden de los dragones -Michael Peinkofer. I'd rate this like 3 stars, I only read it because I was dared I couldn't read it in two hours.

2. The Way of Kings -Brandon Sanderson:. This is a solid 4.5 stars, other than the massive size and some plot points that got too long it was great.

3. Words of Radiance -Brandon Sanderson. 4 stars, there was this plot point by the end which I HATED, so that detracts from it.

4. Pediatrics articles I -I decided I was adding my med readings to the list because honestly it takes so much time and is just SO MUCH to read that I feel like they add up to a book each month. Of course I'm not rating these.

February was a slow one -with all the studying I had to do I’ve barely had time to read, and accounting for how massive Oathbringer is, I haven’t finished it. HOWEVER:

5. Pediatrics articles II -it was over 100 pages this month, I’m sure. Just the syphilis guide was almost 60 pages long…

6. Small collection of Lokius fanfics on AO3 -I don’t currently have the names, just know I needed some hurt/comfort and I got it from there.

That's an impessive list.

I've read just two books from it, and the rest are new to me.

I have just one question: where do you look for something like book recommendations, or how do you decide what to read?

For me it's pretty hard somethimes to choose something

I'm constantly on Goodreads, and do a lot of searching through what the library has on offer. A number of those books are by authors I follow or keep an eye out for. Some are from Kindle recommendations, some I stumble upon.

I tend to be a mood reader, so if I find something that fits my mood, I'll pick it up. I refuse to read books I know I won't like just because they're on a best sellers' list or a celebrity is pitching for it, or because it's a "classic" of literature (zzzzzzzz).

Read what makes you happy. That's my best suggestion. Like comics? Go for them! Manga makes you bounce with joy? Read 'em! Like trashy romance novels? Enjoy!

Now, March picked up a bit of the slack!! I think I managed to pick my timeline back, so yay!! I know I'll probably lose it again in April because of Oathbringer, but yeah.

7. Oathbringer -Brandon Sanderson. ****.5, it was great, doesn't get 5 stars only because of its sheer size (funny how I bought them exactly for that and now complain. Whoops).

8. Warbreaker -Brandon Sanderson. *****, what more can I say? Absolutely perfect, even if the ending was a bit underwhelming.

9. Edgedancer -Brandon Sanderson. ****, quick and plot-advancing, I really like Rysn, I just don't particularly love it the way I love other Stormlight books.

10. A room in a hotel in New York City -RobinBelleFae on AO3. **** fanfic was so short and sooo good!

11. In the palm of your hand -skamownsme4ever on AO3. ***.5 good but short, a cute little palate cleanser while I struggled through the last bits of Oathbringer.

12. That's the art of getting by -sarewolf on AO3. *****, it's short, it's funny, I cried, I loved it. That's it.

13. Internal medicine articles -atleast it's bette than Peds.

Books read: 13/52

Pages read: ? I'll have to update on this one

Current read: Rhythm of War (1408 pages), Destiny has a wicked sense of humor (not sure either, it's a fic)

I don't have a particular goal but I have been trying to read more this year. Here's my 2024 list (finished ones only):

  1. How Not to Diet by Dr. Michael Greger: 4/5, I don't need to lose weight but wanted more after reading How Not to Die
  2. How Not to Age by Dr. Michael Greger: 4/5, mostly minor optimizations on How Not to Die
  3. Why We Sleep by Matthew Walker: 4/5, interesting but ironically I think it made my sleeping worse by making me worry about it
  4. Digital Minimalism by Cal Newport: 3/5, felt mostly like common sense to me
  5. Roommates by Pokemaniacal and TGWeaver on AO3: 5/5, don't really know anything about FNAF but enjoyed it; the ending was great
  6. The Greatest Show on Earth by Richard Dawkins: 4/5, he was a little harsh but I can see why he would be frustrated
  7. Stumbling Upon Happiness by Daniel Gilbert: 3/5, was interesting but not practical
  8. Atomic Habits by James Clear: 3/5, seems like it would work but I don't like the toxic productivity the writer implies
  9. The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat by Dr. Olliver Sacks: 5/5, very intriguing cases
  10. Dopesick by Beth Macy: 4/5, though if you have a tendency to get angry at capitalism you should avoid it for your blood pressure
  11. Canary in the Coal Mine by Dr. William Cooke: 3/5, mostly a history lesson unless you're completely new to the subject
  12. Your Money or Your Life by Vicki Robin and Joe Dominguez: 3/5, some good ideas but I'm not going to implement everything
  13. When the Air Hits Your Brain by Dr. Frank Vertosick Jr.: 5/5, a mixture of interesting cases and the despair of medical training
  14. Homestuck (it counts fight me) by Andrew Hussie: 3/5, it was pretty okay I guess. Epilogues were weird. That's really all there is to say on the matter
  15. Ace by Angela Chen: 2/5, I ended up skipping about a third of it on topics I didn't find interesting
