ily
Someone asked me, "When you order from the AVEN store, what is listed on your credit card bill?" In case anyone else is interested in the answer, what shows up is just "Cafepress". AVEN would not be listed.
WasteOfTime
Asexuality flags available soon I have talked a flags company into making us a small trial run of Asexuality flags. Please support this endeavor as our flag will only gain standing if we can get the numbers of them out there. These are full sized real-flying 5x3 feet (150 x 90cm) Asexuality flags available around the middle of December this year. Expected price is around the US$30 (NZ$38.90) mark and this includes postage world wide. Payment will only be accepted by major credit card: Visa, Mastercard, Amex and Diners. More information and a picture: http://www.flagsoftheworld.co.nz/p1030-asexuality-pride-flag.htm Please P.M. me with any inquiries or to add yourself to the list to be advised when these are ready. I'm sure a lot of people will be interested in it.
hexaquark
The other day I was wondering what the AVEN cake looks like on bigger scale. The emote is so well done (how do you fit a cake into 15X15?!) but I've never seen a larger version that isn't pixelated... so I gave it a go. I had to scale my attempt down because the file is huge, ironically, and it was dangling off the forum in an undignified way: This is the other, slightly simpler one, spoilered for too many cakes (wouldn't want to over indulge!): Not highly technical but I enjoyed doing it. And then I thought, there is so little cake in the store, so if this design isn’t too terrible and some people like it, it could be used as a graphic, on buttons perhaps? Or bags… Either that or this post will motivate someone who can draw to say: "no! this is how you draw a cake" It would be kind of fun to have some more in the shop though... Any thoughts? ily
I love that tote bag! And I like the cake with the frosting border. :) We actually have 2 cake designs already, but if I put them all in one area, maybe it wouldn't seem like too much. (We could have a flag section and a cake section, perhaps.) If you're willing to size your design based on the Cafepress templates, I'd be glad to use it. Also, AVEN STORE SALE! (Actually, it's a CafePress-wide sale.) From November 20-23, you'll save $10 on orders of $50+ (use code: Friend10).

Oooh, I love that bag as well. For the badges, how about you have a purple background instead of white? It's to plain with just white. Or have a white background and a purple option. I'd want to buy one, but not with a white background (the badge I mean). Great job on the cake! EDIT: Also, maybe you can make it so the text is not as close to the edges? (We could have a flag section and a cake section, perhaps.) If you're willing to size your design based on the Cafepress templates, I'd be glad to use it. Since the dimensions of the original file are pretty big and the background is transparent, I don’t think it has to be scaled to a particular template, though I can still do that if you want. Playing around with their design editor, it seems to work on most things. Let me know and I'll send it to you : ) For the badges, how about you have a purple background instead of white? EDIT: Also, maybe you can make it so the text is not as close to the edges? Ooh good idea. Like this or this maybe? There are too many purples in this world I could never choose… but I think having a neutral option is also good, since some people don't like purple. The text and background are pretty open-ended, I just added them in the café press editor, they aren't part of the cake image.

Shockwave
I was just perusing cafepress, looking at new types available and noticed that they now offer dark fitted t-shirts. I have a particular fondness for fitted tees and and prefer dark colors, so I would really appreciate being able to get AVEN design on dark fitted tees.

Shockwave
The one I want most is "This is what an asexual looks like." I plan on replacing most of my tees with fitted tees though, so it'd be a good idea to do most of the designs.

Asexy Artist
I have an idea of something to add to the Store's inventory, have you ever thought of gel bracelets? they are popular, will sell easily, and are cheap to manufacture. I think something like these, but with vertical ace flag colors with "I'm asexual" printed on them would be a good product to add. I personally love gel bracelets, and have been searching online for a long time for an asexual pride bracelet.

I think something like these, but with vertical ace flag colors with "I'm asexual" printed on them would be a good product to add. I personally love gel bracelets, and have been searching online for a long time for an asexual pride bracelet. Those would definitely be nice to have. Sorry it took me so long to get back to you! I checked out the items available on Cafepress, and I was surprised to see that they're not offering these types of bracelets. I know it's not the same, and may be more expensive, but you can get customizable gel bracelets at Wristbands Now. A while back, a bunch of AVENites decided to get them with various asexual slogans, but I don't think we were able to get enough people to do a bulk order. Also, I'm going to answer some questions people have had: Is the AVEN store still active? Yes. It usually sees around one order a week. How can I submit new items/make suggestions for items to sell at the store? You need to create an image that fits within the Cafepress template for the item that you want the image to be on. (Like, if you want your image to be on a shirt, you need to use the shirt template.) Please PM me with any ideas or questions and I'll get back to you quickly. If you PM me I can give you my e-mail address for sending your image. Where do the proceeds from the store go? The AVEN store doesn't make much--our commission is usually $1 for each t-shirt and less for smaller items. The account isn't financially linked to me, but to the previous manager. I'll have to ask them what happens to the proceeds, because I am actually not sure. I'll let you know what I find out.
ily
With thanks to Shockwave for the quick response, I'm told that the shop makes just enough to keep itself open.
