Ninny
I've been thinking about the nature of my sexual arousal and figured the following: I am ONLY sexually aroused by pornography (film) and erotic fiction. (I only get turned on my moving images, not static for some reason, and again only when the footage has sound, otherwise nothing ) These days I never become spontaneously aroused - the last time I can remember that happening was back during my sexual "development" (so around 14-16) and even then it was during my periods so put that down to hormones. I have also become aroused when in an intimate, non-sexual situation with a guy (by intimate I mean just in bed together), however this form of arousal was different from feeling "horny" I didn't feel the fuzzy, warm feeling normally associated with arousal, it was a pure physcial responce (TMI) : my bits had, ahem, 'prepared' themselves for action - (END TMI) I guess you could call this the female equivalent of the spontaneous male errection - the individual feels no sexual stirings themselves but their genitals just seem ready for sex :P (maybe its something to do with pheromones?) So after thinking it though it seems I only become aroused through the use of, erm, sexual aids (:D) and that I never become naturally "spontaneously" aroused. The reason I started to think of this was because i've read a few things about masterbation on this forum (and heard people talking of masterbation in RL) and it seems some people just "become" aroused - but as i've said this doesn't happen to me, only when, err, provoked. Is anyone else like this?
carried in bags
sure - im always getting stiffies when im with a woman in that way. i used to find it sort of confusing. i asumed that i was wanting to have sex, but when i got round to it i lost it - i would feel as awkward as hell so just...do something else. from ase to ase i think we all have different levels. i havent been in that sort of situation with a girl in a year, and i only did a bit of stuff with her because...i felt sorry(?) when i was a teenager i would look a razzle and these dodgy german late night chanels and get aroused as much as any other lad. i never cum from it tho, which then i did find a worry - a worry which would follow me when having sex with girlfriend. i dont care now tho. if i dont have sex for another four years or end up having it in four days - it makes no different
Gotanks0407
yeah i dont get aroused by anything, even pornography, i use to but i think that is because i was making myself, thinking it had to be something i wanted, but know that i know im asexual and its "ok" to not want sex i dont masturbate anymore, unless i just get the biological need, Start TMI- you just get a boner and i just cant get it to go away so you got to crack it to get rid of it- End TMI. other wise i dont get aroused anymore but im still young "21" so i figure i still got a few more years before my libido completely drops off or whatever. dirigible
I experience spontaneous arousal sometimes, though thankfully infrequently. I call it "The Boing Effect", because it just seems to pop up of its own accord, not as a result of anything sexual. I remember it happened at work one time, which was a bit unnerving. I was sitting at my desk, minding my own business, when my lady bits decided to spring up and say, "Oh, hai!", like they were looking for something to do. Fortunately, the feeling goes away after a few minutes if I ignore it. If I'm at home and it's really persistent, I'll masturbate to make it go away.

I hope you don't mind that that made me laugh, dirigible. I do apologise. :D Also feel really sorry for asexual guys with an unwanted sex drive and out-of-the-blue arousals - it's not as if it's even easy for them to hide!

you*hear*but*do*you*listen
I don't experience spontaneous arousal at all. Then again when I do get aroused (usually by fanfiction) I have to think about the feeling before I label it as arousal, so maybe it doesn't actually happen at all...? CaptainCarrot
I'm not sure... sometimes I'll look at someone and thing "Yeh, they're pretty hot! :o". But I don't really experience anything physical anymore. If that counts. *shrugs* Still exploring myself, I suppose. : o Edit: Typos.
ProdeFemme
I don't get that, and I'm glad. I don't think spontaneous arousal would be very fun at all. But the initial image reading the thread title put in my head of all kinds of people just walking along the street and SHBOING! was utterly hilarious.
ThePieMaker
I don't get spontaneous arousal. It has to be triggered by something of the *ahem* rather sexual nature. And it doesn't happen often at all, mostly cause I don't seen out stimulants. Anywho, so the moral of the story is... yeah, I don't get aroused spontaneously.
Shinnok
I don't get spontaneously aroused. I usually only get horny when reading yaoi fan fiction
square peg
No, never spontaneously. I'm parasexual so only when I think about certain things.

metalgirl2045
Never been spontaneously aroused, even during puberty. It takes a fair bit of concentration on something extremely sexual for me to get aroused actually.
Glyn
One thing I've had is I've woken up in bed with an erection, even though I am not experiancing ANY sexual arousal. I hadn't had any sexual dreams neither. I've heard that this happens with a lot of men, regardless of orientation.

Isn't it do to with a full bladder causing pressure on the prostate - hence guys frequently waking in the morning with an erection?
Glyn
In all honesty, I have no idea. I've never noticed any pattern. However it would be interesting to find out.
