Asexual women and male nudity........ reactions/ thoughts

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

I just read an interesting post relating to female nudity and how male asexuals react/ feel about looking at a naked woman. I was interested in finding out what female asexual's attitudes were to male nudity.

I actually find male genitalia fairly repugnant and curiously when I see naked/ partially naked men on TV I always think that they ought to shave their armpits- I think all that hair hanging out is a bit yuck.

In relation to other parts of their body though, I think I'm fairly indifferent; I'm more attracted to peoples' faces I think, and I suppose some peoples' hands look nice too (I mean attracted- but not in a " I want to have sex with you way"); but certainly a typical tanned, greased semi-naked male on a tacky calendar would be entirely unappealing, I imagine that I'd go for something more obscure.

I have been to so many gay pubs with gay male strippers that i am put off for life my ORANGE MEN TEE HEE... i have never found the body attractive, what i find attractive, is the attitude and personnality....that really appeals to me......

Ew, grease! Heh. I'm pretty much indifferent to the male naked body, as I am towards female nakedness.

But like, how often does one see full frontal male-nudity (excluding you know, porn)?

Part of the reason that it took me so many years to figure out that I was asexual is that I do like to look at pics of nude, good-looking men. It took me a loooong while to realize that I just liked to look, not to have sex with any of them.

The other reason is that being born in 1942, there was no web site to give me any info.(or computers for the home!)

Well, my reaction to a hypothetical naked guy standing in front of me would be pure embarrassment, to be honest. In pictures, my reaction tends to be "please put that away." I'm not horribly repulsed by dicks, but I don't have very much interest in them either. I have the same reaction to looking at naked/semi-naked women.

Quick edit for verbal tics.

Male nudity squicks me out...female nudity squicks me out too, but male nudity makes me uncomfortable beyond words. I think the human body, especially the male persuasion, is quite ugly. I've sort of forced myself to not think female nudity is as bad only because I am female, but still...

I think of nudity the same way I think of a high speed chase. I'm curious to see what's happening, but once I know, I change the channel.

Squicks me out entirely. Genitalia, ugh, I do not want to see these things! Female naked bodies aren't so bad (still makes me massively uncomfortable and still something I really don't want to look at), probably because I have one of my own and therefore it's not that weird and different.

Not the biggest fan of the human body altogether here, male or female (or other.) Admittedly though as I'm growing older I'm finding myself less disturbed by the male body and more indifferent.

I think it's safe to say that I'm more comfortable with nude male bodies if they're physically next to me rather than in photography or films, although I'm unsure why.

I find male nudity below the belt a bit icky, not completely repulsed but kinda uggh that's not really attractive? However shirtless men with nice faces I like looking at. I'm indifferent to other female bodies, I don't really find completely naked bodies in general pleasant but I've seen enough in locker rooms etc that it doesn't phase me although I'd rather NOT see if given the choice.

I would say I'm genuinely indifferent. If I were repulsed, I wouldn't have participated in the World Naked Bike Ride last year. I was one of the three females in the group of about 20.

Then again, considering that there was cycling involved, that's probably different.

Faces, chests, arms, sure. I find some men to be aesthetically appealing in this way.

The penis...not aesthetically appealing. Ever. It's just...ugh. I'm like, all right, that's nice, putthatawayplzkthx.

On the other hand, I find the female body (all of it) to be quite nice to look at. But only images. Like, sculptures, paintings, movies, etc. If I saw an actual naked woman I'd probably just be embarrassed. Just...ohmigodI'msorrysorrysorryI'llgonow. Maybe that's just because I have all that stuff and I'm pretty comfortable with my own body. But the penis is just not an appealing sight. Thankfully, full frontal male nudity is uncommon in non-porn films and the like.

I have no problem with male nudity. I've seen my fair share of it in drawing courses (with live nude models in front of me) and cinema classes (filmed/photographed nudity), and I guess they're both about the same for me. But the same goes for female nudity. The two bodies are completely different; women's bodies are generally softer and curvier, while male bodies are generally more rigid and chiseled (as well as, you know, other anatomical differences).

Looking at someone's naked body is never anything sexual for me. I think the natural human body is beautiful. Maybe that's because I'm artistically-minded, maybe that's because I'm scientifically/biologically fascinated (I mean, how cool is it that we have fingers, thumbs, eyes, hearts, bones, teeth, muscles, let alone a brain and consciousness to comprehend it all!), I don't know.

But I do stress the importance of natural. Made-up, enhanced, greased bodies are not appealing to me. I wish more people could see their own beauty without feeling the need to alter themselves to fit a bogus societal standard.

heheh...I remember the first time I tried to watch porn (I say tried because I got bored about two minutes in and turned it off) looking at the guy and going. "Ohhh, so THAT'S what a penis looks like in real life...umm...ew." (as it turns out, no yaoi manga in the world can prepare you for the sight of actual penis. Although I think I'm mostly desensitized to male nudity by now...)

Personally, guys look better with their shirts and pants ON. I find them fairly attractive when they're wearing clothes, but if I see a guy shirtless...most of the time it makes them seem less attractive to me. And I hate seeing pictures of over-muscled guys who're all greased up. Seriously, who needs to be THAT shiny? It's freaky and SO not hot.

I think it just looks silly :D It's not repulsive, and it's not attractive. Just really, incredibly silly.

Shirtless male bodies with pants on can look quite aesthetically pleasing. Indifferent to nudity or genitals (male and female) if it's in nude sketches or artistic photos. If it's images that are porn-like, then no. Just...no. Eugh.

LOL yes.

Yeah. That, and I would rather see well-dressed people than naked people.

The male body looks silly, especially genitals. I think I'm sort of used to female bodies, having one of my own, but human bodies in general are pretty weird. What self-respecting mammal walks on its heel bone?!

I'm indifferent to nudity from the waist up, and from the waist down I find it slightly unpleasant. It's more the act of sex that disturbs me; if a naked man were just standing there I wouldn't have much of a reaction.

I'm pretty indifferent to nudity from the waist up too, although I think breasts look pretty silly. Still - waist down nudity is just ick. I do not want to see that.

Genitalia is yucky. I know I sound like a child, but good grief.

The first time I saw a penis was when I was 4 or 5 and at a classmate's birthday party. His little brother of 3 or 4 was swimming naked in their pool. Dumbo was playing on TV in the boy's living room. (it's funny the details I remember)

I then looked at this little boy as he walked in, completely starkers, and wondered why there was a hot dog growing from his hips.

I don't know if I could ever watch Dumbo again without that image springing to mind.

I don't really know where I'm getting at... except that I still feel a similar way about penises. They're weird and look like very wrong hot dogs.

As for vaginas, well, I saw my own in the mirror once and said "euugh" aloud. 'Nuff said.

Everything else about the naked figure, I don't care about. It's okay. Women tend to have aesthetic curves, which is nice.

I am attracted to Nude pictures in both sexes as long as it's on artistic purposes. ( or you can say I admire them in some way)

Human body is just so beautiful in the shape and form and texture. A great artwork of the univese! (Imagine David or Venus statue)

I'm not sexually attracted to them, I don't feel anything inside my pants. /LOL/

I simply love the photographic artwork of Mona Kuhn which is mostly about nude people in artistic positions.

They are awesome.

Anyway nude is not rude. :)

Hmmm... Actually, I'm used to partial-nudity.

I live with a guy who walks around without a shirt on almost all the time. [my dad]

I'm used to seeing a lot of guys in my family go shirtless... It's just what they do.

But they are also all quite large so they probably sweat more than most.

Full nudity - I don't think I could ever handle.

As for their armpit hair... My sister thinks the same way, except she thinks that about their armpits and legs and anywhere else she thinks there shouldn't be hair (oddly not in same places as I do like the Genitalia for example. Oh sure, she's fine with hair being there just not anywhere else? Confusing.)

Nevertheless, I'm used to seeing body hair.

Why is it so many MORE people dislike the male nude body (i.e. find it icky), than the female's? I mean, if you look back to the ancient Greeks, they idealized the human body in art, like sculptures. Like, THE human body was the most beautiful thing to them. They didn't necessarily do it in a sexual sense (Maybe they did and their view of 'sexy' were different than ours) I'm wondering why we think so low of the male nude body, especially from the female population. Is it that the male genitals are viewed too strongly in a sexual context? Like I mean the female body certainly can be seen that way a lot of the time, yet more people still like to look at it.

There is still beauty in the male body, as there is in the female's.

I see what you mean. I've seen a lot of artwork - sculptures included - both male and female.

Personally, I always found the male artwork to be done better - if I went back and looked I could find some female artwork that was better though.

I even remember the first time I saw a male sculpture - I stood there wondering "what the heck is that?" [if you catch my drift].

Even with the female sculptures I first saw, which were nude, I stood there wondering "what the heck are those?" [i really wasn't that old at all]

I asked my mom about the second one... I was told that I'd find out when i was older - I did I ever.

I don't really think low of it, nor do I think greatly of it.

When it comes to artwork - it's not always sexual so that's why I'm actually allowed to look at it.

I'd also like to add I don't think greatly of the female body either... The one thing I like better about it is that it's generally 'softer' than the male body.

I like to draw soft curves and whatnot - so I do like to draw females but that's about it.

Maybe that's why more people like to look at it more - because the female body is softer?

Not sure, just a thought.

I think males can look quite nice nude, provided they aren't the tacky-calender greasy muscley type - but as soon as it gets to the private parts its totally ruined!!!! I think male privates are so odd looking - i heard a joke once that when God was sculpting the male body he was interupted and quickly smushed on some clay where the privates were suppost to be - which really looks like what happened!!! :P

I just feel so embarassed when looking at a naked male body - I can handle it in an artistic context (i'm an art historian so i kinda have to) but in any other context i'm just icked out - and in real life i'd be totally freaked out. I once had a boyfriend and i just had to literally overlook his bits else i'd just giggle/stare in a car-crash kinda way.

I think i handle the female form better because being female myself it's not so alien as the male body is to me, plus I think the female form is beautiful (then again if i was in the same room as a naked female I wouldn't know where to look, lol

If males had flat parts like Ken dolls then I think i'd be okay :P
