Incredibly Ace Moments

I was in a car with 3 other people going to a theme park and this convo happened.

Person A: FOX, where do you want to eat?

Me: I'm not hungry, someone else pick.

Person A: B, what do you want to eat?

Person B: Since my husband isn't in the car I'll have to pick something else.

I though "They must always eat somewhere special together when they are going to the theme park and she doesn't want to eat there without him, how sweet!"

Then person C said: Ew, that's gross.

It took me a couple minutes to understand what person B said that was gross.

A few years ago in Uni, I was talking with a couple of friends (neither knows I'm ace), at the town square near our Uni.

Guy A: *suddenly* Guys, guys, 5 o'clock

*both myself and guy b turn to face that direction*

Me: Huh? *trying to see what was happening at the shop in that direction*

Guy B: Nice

Me: What is it? *really confussed at what was happening*

Guy A: *noticing my confussion* Now 6 o'clock!

Guy B: Yeah I see it

Me: I what are you to looking at?

Guy A: 7 o'clock

Guy B: *catching on my confussion* Now 8 o'clock

Guy A: And you've missed it!

Me: What was it?

Guy B: The hot bird! Didn't you see her?

Me: *embarrassed* Oh, thought you were pointing something else out!

I was looking out for something abnormal so didn't pay attention to people walking by normally.

I was watching that new dating show on TLC where the strangers kiss (basically ripping off that vid on youtube that went viral not too long ago) and they had the audio jacked up so high when they were kissing that you could hear their lips smacking and everything and it was so cringy I though I was gonna heave. Then after some of them would talk about how good the sex was and what else they'd "want to do" with that person which again made me cringe and gag all the while getting weird looks from my mom.

That awkward moment when the reality that sex is a real thing people do hits you like a mac truck.

Most people hear seem to find it uncomfortable to talk about sex. I will have a full on convo about sex with whoever, im ace but i dont really care. I will also watch a sex scene in a movie (not where u see them naked) or read a sex scene in a book, its no big deal. Im not gonna lie, i enjoy the saucy scenes in a book.

My top ace moment would probably be everytime i see a shirtless guy, i honestly do not give a damn if u have abs or whatever please put a shirt on for the sake of humanity. I probably make a face all the time too, i dont do it purposely it just happens. Another thing i hate is when men's muscles are too defined. V-lines are disgusting to me like i dont see why you want your bones poking out like that it looks weird. also when the abs are to defined, you can have mild abs where someone would have to be fairly close to see them but not the nasty ones where it looks like you have 6 squares on your body. Defined muscles are not 'attractive' or good looking to me.

Once I saw one of my (former) roommates shirtless and discovered that he had some major abs going on. Sixpack and all. My first thought was "huh, fascinating, I didn't realize he had abs" and my second thought was "bah. I guess I'm going back to my room. I don't want to have to look at that"

Was playing Pokemon Go at a park with a lake and came around the long way. I was coming up on a Gym (battle tower) near a playground at a half shelter thing... With two people having sex in it! I just kept my head down looking at my phone pretending not to see them, but out of the corner of my eye,i could see the girls head turn in my direction lol. I waited at the playground until they came around the corner then headed over to takeover the tower. Then I saw them in the parking lot staring at me as I walked into a crowd of other Pokemon players gathered at a pokestop with a lure, turned my back on them and hope they didn't come over :S

But I'm 6'4 (with defined abs :p ) so I don't worry much ;)

It's called compulsory sexuality, and yes, it is a real thing. It's a component of heteronormativity, as is amatonormativity (compulsory romanticism), but they can exist on their own as well.

I went to a family reunion today to meet a lot of my Dad's cousins I had never met before. I was sitting on the couch with my older sister, and my little sister had come by to grab something from the diaper bag for my nephew. My Dad's aunt apparently found it weird that my sisters and I are so close, so my Dad started giving them background. My older sister and I were totally eavesdropping on the other side of the room, so we heard the following conversation:

My Dad: "Yeah, (my older sister) wasn't afraid to bring her man home to meet us, which was great. She's very open about us getting to know him."

Yeah, compulsory sexuality is also why some of my acquaintances (my friends know I am aro-ace) ask me for romance/sex advise, because since I never complain about my girlfriend, or lack thereof, I must have a perfect relationship, and therefore must know everything about relationships. The possibility that I am happily single never occurs to them.

I remember when I was 11, and I was playing on an online multiplayer server for a video game called Star Wars Republic Commandos (let me know if you used to play that game too!) and everyone else on the server was 15 or older. There was a conversation going on the server's chat about porn, and me being the curious kid I was, didn't hesitate to ask what this "porn" thing was. Someone in the conversation asked me my age, and I gladly told them. They then told me that porn is when somebody takes pictures or videos of people having sex. That made me think of two things in particular:

1. Why the heck would any one want to do that?

2. That sounds like intrusion, and should be illegal. (I hadn't yet made the connection that sex was for more than producing children, and though that people only did it so they could have kids.)

The multiplayer community on that game wasn't a great environment for an 11 year-old, and I learned a lot of things through that I probably wouldn't have realized for a long time.

Never played it online but I have played the single player campaign, enjoyed it alot but felt it was a bit short. Definatly deserved a sequal. Played it on the PC.

The multiplayer community on that game wasn't a great environment for an 11 year-old.

Not an ace moment but a fun moment, i was out for lunch/dinner with one of my best friends at a place called original Joe's. I had no clue which burger i wanted but was looking at most of them. My friend jokingly made the comment that i needed to order the ace burger(he knows I'm ace and is super cool about it) i then reread what the ace burger was and was like"yeah i think i will!" He the said only if you want to. It took me a moment to realize that he meant the ace burger as in that i am ace not as in that it souded good...... we both laughed and i ordered it anyway! (It was pretty good!)

I've always been able to pretend to be fully sexual. I've always understood all the sex jokes, I've always been able to identify someone I "like", etc. I don't really enjoy sex scenes in movies but I definitely enjoy hot guys in movies. Oh man, Republic Commando is the best game ever. I played the heck out of that game and still do replay it upon occasion.

Back when that came out, I was absolutely obsessed with the clones from Star Wars. I really liked the Republic Commando book series and I always figured the clones were aro aces, until the author made them explicitly not so. Then I stopped reading the series because they took a turn for the worse. xD

This morning started out as an ordinary morning. I was watching anime when my dad came in my room and gave me a list of chores he wants my brother and I to do. After a brief conversation about it, my dad went into my brother's room to tell him.

Though my brother's room is right next to mine, I was still laying down in my bed, so I didn't see that my dad was standing at my brother's doorway, yet facing outwards toward the hall. But since I heard them talking, I assumed my dad was telling my brother the same thing, so I called my him over to take a look at the chore list. My brother then shouted, "In a minute!" I was confused, as its not that hard to take six steps to my room to get a list, but then my dad said, "You can't see what's going on from over there." I sat up in my bed, now seeing how my dad was standing. I asked, "What's going on?" My brother replied, "You can tell by the sounds." I became even more confused, because I hadn't heard anything from his room that seemed suspicious, even when I had paused or changed the episode of the anime I was watching. My dad then started to mock loud breaths, and I was about to ask why he was making those sounds, but then he busted a joke about how my brother 'gets to fuck at his computer' when my mom makes him massage her every night.

My thoughts? I'm just amazed that he had the nerve to do that at 9 in the morning when the rest of the house was already up.
