asexuality and health

Not having sex doesn't put you at risk of any diseases.

Having unprotected sex puts you at risk of catching various STIs, including Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) which causes genital warts, although not everybody with it will have visible warts. Certain strains of HPV are associated with cancer of the cervix - which is why anything that increases your chance of getting an STI (unprotected sex, multiple partners etc) increases your risk of cervical cancer. You can catch HPV through lesbian sex, although the risk is lower than with penetrative hetero/gay sex (sorry to be graphic!). Hence the risk of cervical cancer is amazingly low in virgins, and relatively low in lesbians.

The risk of breast cancer and ovarian cancer is higher in women who do not have any children, they are related to pregnancies, not to having sex, so a childless woman who has sex every day still has the same risk as a childless woman who is a virgin (assuming all their other risk factors are the same)

Can't answer the animal question, though
