What is lust all about????

Recommended Posts

I also believe that when lust is used concerning people it does refer to a sexual desire, however I think it can be legitamately used with non-human things. Lust is a desire for something.

Yes. It can be legitimately used in that manner. However, that usage is figurative (unless you've got a fetish). Like I said, it's the difference between saying that I hunger for cake, and saying I hunger for power. Same word, but the thing they're describing is different. Sexual lust and non-sexual desire are not the same thing -- one is accompanied by specific physiological changes -- and it's a mistake to say that they are simply because the same word can be used to describe both.

Alright, my theory is that lust isn't simply desire but expectation. I think the closest I've ever come to that feeling is when I'm waiting for a new book to come out.

Couldn't agree with you more. *suffers from horrible booklust and loves every minute*
