Ivy the asexy unicorn
My best friend told me the other day that "in case you didn't already know, I'm bi". I did in fact know this because she would tell me famous girls and guys (mostly guys) she found attractive. Since we were on the topic I responded "okay but if you didn't already know I'm ace". Using this I told my mom my friend came out as bi and used it as a gateway to tell her my own sexuality. She was much more excepting then my dad who I tried to tell much earlier. Where my mom thinks people can like whoever they want my dad took my explanation of asexuality as something everyone goes through and tells me it will pass eventually. Regardless all of my friends still continue to be excepting and I no longer feel so worried about telling people my sexuality should the conversation arise. Should you be reading this then congratulations for getting through my random rant of coming out.
Lichley
Congratulations! If you want you can use this http://www.asexualityarchive.com/a-parents-guide-to-asexuality/ to help explain it to your dad. He probably just doesn't understand the concept all that well.
