Anthony Grace
Greetings, AVEN. My name is Anthony Grace. Here is a brief history of me realizing I was not a cis straight girl. I've known for five years that I'm ace, thanks to my older sister who introduced me to the term, and less so that I was aro. It was a struggle accepting this label. I used to call myself a pancake, a pun because I assumed i was a panromantic asexual. I've known for two years that I was trans. It begun by me putting on my big boy pants (more seriously, it was because I'd borrowed a pair of my brother's and decided I preferred men's clothing which led to questioning for the next few months). What specific label I was, I determined much later. First I thought I must be genderfluid, still clinging to any trace of my assigned gender I could. This was how I dealt with the panic of 'oh shit I'm NOT the girl everyone thought I was'. It took two failed relationships to discover I was not in fact any form of a girl. So I decided I was a trans man and did away with my girl's clothes. For the next year I was happy, and satisfied for the most part. Sometime I came to realize I wasn't wholly a man either. This sent me back into the questioning stage until my friends told me they were both nonbinary. So I decided to use that label in addition to trans. I went through six names before settling on Anthony, and whether it's the name I end up legally with is yet to be determined. A little more about myself; I play video games like Skyrim, GTA V, and Minecraft. I love tv shows such as Hunter x Hunter, Steven Universe, and My Hero Academia. My favorite movies are the Avengers, X-Men (the ones with Macavoy and Fassbender), and Harry Potter. My favorite books are Harry Potter, Twilight, and Percy Jackson. My favorite type of music is punk rock, and my favorite singer and role model is a lovely, beautiful woman named Laura Jane Grace, who is the main singer of her band, Against Me! Her music helped me cope with being trans, and I fell in love. I joined this site to make more friends, something I'm incredibly bad at in person. I have anxiety, you see. I hope to get to know some of you.
