Skycaptain
Jellied eels seems to be peculiarly south east England dish (and whilst I like them many don't) I gave seen pigs brain for sale in France Pickled eggs (just hard boiled eggs shelled and pickled in vinegar) a bizarre pub delicacy
Rhaenys
In Trinidad we eat wildmeat which consists of an armadillo like creature called Tattoo, a rodent family creature called an agouti, oppossum and iguanas. I know ppl cook horse meat meat here....it's very rubbery and hard to chew imo. There's a popular dish called Bake and Shark which is shark meat and fried flour. There's Souse which is chicken or pig feet in a kind of seasoned broth. The guy from Bizarre foods came here and didn't like it.

Palovana
In the southeastern US people eat waffles with fried chicken on top along with butter, gravy, and/or syrup. Banana and mayonnaise sandwich is also something people eat, which makes me gag just thinking about. Oh, and boiled peanuts are also a thing, and you can get them with different spices on them. fuzzipueo
In Hawai'i, they have poi which is made of boiled and mashed taro root. The fresh stuff tastes like potatoes. The packaged stuff sold to tourist is evidently not very good. The best thing to smell in the fall around here is that of chile roasting. Almost every grocery store in the city offers this service if you buy a bushel, then you take it home and peel it for cooking or throw it in the freezer for later. Nummy. Gloomy
At our fairs they have weird things like chocolate covered bacon(which is actually pretty good) and anything you can imagine being deep fried.
seneca
In Scotland I had haggis. All it is is sheep sausage. Quite good. I had goat in Ireland in the form of a hamburger like creation. In Italy. one of the "street foods" is a calamari sandwich. Fried squid. You have to eat it right away, as it got rubbery as it cooled.

I've never anything like this in any butchery at home, though But we do eat snails, and frog thighs. Not a stereotype I'm afraid. Mmm let me think... beef tongue. Stewed rabbit. All the GI parts of any animal (liver, heart, stomach, even the anus). Foie gras (overstuffed goose liver). Tartare steak (basically raw meat). I could come up with much more, but I think that's already a fancy list!
Guest
-I don't think its weird regarding the ingredients in it, but do in terms of how its received overseas--poutine. I always have gotten weirded out looks. The funny thing, is most people love gravy on their fries. Some love cheese. However, put them all together, and you're just crazy O_o -Beavertails would be the other. I think its perceived as weird, as many who come to Canada, assume we murder beavers, just to strip them of their tails, so that we can coat it in flour and cinnamon, and other delicious toppings--and throw out the useless animal, afterwards. Its actually a flat pastry, which is quite delicious.

That Beavertail story's funny; I guess that's why other parts of the world call them pastries: so people don't mistake them for being a real animal. They look delicious. XYZ96
I'm not sure how weird these food are, but some could probably consider them weird (in the spoilers are photos...) my favorite food bring up: Matchbrötchen (bread role with a chocolate covered marshmallow) Spoiler There is type of sandwich here, that is ground up meat on a piece of bread... the Mettbrötchen (I've never tried it though, nor have I ever seen anyone else eat this...) Spoiler we have a cake that main topping is onions.. it's onion cake... not sure how weird that is, or if it's just that I find it weird that people like onion cake... who knows Spoiler the drink in the glass is is new wine, it's traditional to eat onion cake and new wine in (I think) fall... we have any and every juice watered down with sparkling water, and it makes all the juices better also one of our very popular juices is multivitamin juice, it's basically fruit juice, and it looks a bit like carrot juice, so for a while when I was younger I never wanted to drink it because it must be carrot juice, because it is very orange.. Spoiler we have year round colored eggs (I think it's to make it obvious when buying eggs, what eggs are hardboiled already and what ones are raw) we have Rouladen, which is meat rolled up with a pickle in it (and onions, but onions are in everything, so...) It actually sounds quite yummy. It is. Good poutine is hard to find, however. Quebec has some of the best I have tried. I find for it to be good, you need: High quality cheese curds. Thick and rich sauce. Not too salty. Nice and crispy fries. A nice balance of cheese, sauce and fries in each bite. Some of the best, layer it. That's how I make mine. Each bite is perfect as a result.

In Vancouver I think there are only two locations... one on top of Grouse Mountain, and one at the PNE (I think also at the PNE are "Whale tails" which are similar, but bigger). I think there might be one food truck that hangs out downtown too. Suffice to say it's a rare treat on the West Coast. I wish we had more of them.
