JoePa82
Hello, everyone. I've been thinking about this topic for some time now since I originally wondered if I was at the very least demisexual, if not asexual. The facts for me are: - Thinking about doing sex is either "ick" or "ehhhhh, nah I'm okay, but it's all good" - I masturbate - I'll use porn as an 'aid' since I have big trouble 'getting there' without. (Here's a part that has me wondering sometimes) - Even though I don't have sexual attraction to someone just by looking at them, or... ever, especially if I don't REALLY like them for a while (and even then the ones I'm interested in have been in question there over a good long time).... - 'Straight' porn/stories works - 'Lesbian' porn/stories works - 'Gay' porn/stories do not work - I am definitely heteroromantic - Never had sex at 35, and still don't really care about it - I have had what most people would call a 'crush' with someone I've never met or talked to in person (sort of) - No sexual want, but emotionally attracted, sort of? (I do get attracted on an almost empathic level sometimes, if that makes sense too? o.O) All that said, does any of this mean I'm more 'Straight' than demisexual/asexual? I'm just legit curious. Thank you for your time.
TheAP
It sounds like you may be asexual. Being aroused by porn doesn't necessarily mean you aren't asexual, as long as you don't experience any sexual attraction or desire.
JoePa82
First of all, thank you for answering me so frankly and straight forward. This is I think my second post on here and it always takes me courage to even do it. I had a long time between it and this even though I wanted to ask this long ago. My follow up then would be does me not liking male homosexual porn but liking male on female and female on female in terms of what arouses me still mean I could be asexual and not heterosexual? I understand the attraction is the key, but does arousal follow its own "path" in things?
TheAP
I don't think what kind of porn you're aroused by necessarily affects your sexual orientation.
