[TMI] Am I aegosexual or gray-a

Recommended Posts

I have came across and read about aegosexual and feels like it fits me pretty well. I have always been aroused by my own imagination going back to my middle to high school days when I was really uncomfortable about having sex with someone. I am never involved in these fantasies. I also find arousal in porn material as well from time to time.

However, I think that I am between asexual and sexual and actually have sexual attraction sometimes. I am not committed to going though with having sex though. I would think I want to try it with a girl but I end up not caring about it anymore a few days later. I, however, enjoy oral sex though but the penetration I am not too interested that I would actually find pleasure in it in my imagination not involving me otherwise. The times I had sex with guys in the past I would always close my eyes and would likely do the same thing if I were doing it with a girl or anyone in general.

Anegoasexuality (that's the correct spelling, btw - if the following word starts with a vowel, the prefix a- becomes an-. Exactly like in English: a tomato, but an owl) and (gray-)asexuality don't exclude each other. While I certainly don't think that fantasizing in third person is limited to aces or that anegosexuality is just "a form of asexuality", it seems relatively common in asexual people.

Kinda irrelevant but I was under the assumption that "aego" was a prefix that in this case is paired with the root "sexual," not "asexual." Since "sexual" clearly begins with an s and not a vowel, I don't understand this point.

But anyway, by definition, aegosexuality (also called autocrissexuality/autochorissexuality) is on the ace spectrum. Technically, aego- is a type of gray-. It's up to you to choose whether you wish to label yourself as ace, gray-ace, aego, or whatever. Personally, I prefer to use gray because I feel that my sexuality is too confusing to pin down, so I use a broad, umbrella term.

No, the word's structure is: an-ego-sexual.

Thank you everyone. I feel like I am very close to figuring everything out. From what I heard finding someone, rather fictional or real life, hot isn't sexual attraction. I have found characters hot but nothing more. Also, I think I am just finding girls in real life hot so I think it's safe to say that I am anegosexual (or any version of it.)

Very interesting, I haven't seen it actually spelled that from what I seen. Maybe I should go with the original term I suppose?
