In my country I have to use a 1st name that fits my legal gender. If you're from Austria you CAN change your first name to a gender neutral name without changing the legal gender (I did that!) Ah, yes. I already found out and forgot to update my post. Nice thing, but somewhat expensive. Did you have any problems getting new school reports (Maturazeugnis), university diplomas etc.? Did you have any problems getting new school reports (Maturazeugnis), university diplomas etc.? spoiler because it's getting off-topic Spoiler For me it wasn't expensive because I'm non-binary trans (neutrois) and fell under the rules for name changes for trans people. At the register office they were weirded out why I didn't also apply for Personenstandsänderung (ofc being non-binary is unheard of!), but I'll wait until a third option for gender becomes available. University was no problem - I could print out the new documents myself. As for school, I've contacted the authorities in charge this summer and should have gotten the documents by fall but they haven't sent me my stuff yet. Apart from that everything worked out smoothly

Lonemathsytoothbrushthief
I'm now really wanting to get a German/Austrian name now since I decided I want to feel connected to that part of me, and found this site full of potentially gender neutral names too!!! my current faves are Ingar and Frana(Frana being an old Czeque shortened form for either Franz or Franziska-German spelling) and this page is making me super happy!!!
