I Love Lamp

Hello I'm 33, female. From Canada, but I live in Ireland right now. I'm a writer, and I've known for about 10 years now I was asexual (found the definition somehow online and got to AVEN). I decided to join up now because I'm a later bloomer. Actually, no I'm asexual and aromantic. Although I've discovered there's subcategories of aromanticism that it's interesting to learn about. 

I don't feel like I have to put myself in a category, but at the same time it's nice to look around and see there are other people like you. People who aren't obsessed with sex and hooking up with some random guy/girl. Not that there's anything wrong with that. My theory has always been if it's between consenting adults then you do whatever you want. I don't need to know any details, but I don't care. 

Being 33 I'm pretty confident I am asexual and aromantic, and that this isn't some phase. But I'd say to anyone younger than me (or older whatever) that if you think you're ace or aro or whatever then go with that. There are no strict definitions to this, right? And if something changes in the future then go with that. If I wake up tomorrow and suddenly feel sexual or romantic attraction for someone, then I'll change the label I use (or maybe not, guess it depends). But being ace and aro is a part of who I am now, and it's an important part. It's not the only part of me, but it's a small piece.

And I should say I don't love lamp. I mean lamp is okay, but there's nothing more than platonic functional relationship between lamp and I.

 

I do love cake though. Apparently there's lots of cake here.
