Unsure of myself

Hi. I used to experience very strong sexual attraction. I would watch porn, do things with my girlfriend, and generally find myself with a high sex drive. However, since I broke up with her, that drive has dropped to almost none. I don't see attractive people as sexually desirable, never feel sexual urges, cannot enjoy porn, and do not experience much sexual arousal. I've been confused about my situation for a few weeks now, wondering if I should commit to the umbrella of asexuality or just live my life as a single, undiagnosed heterosexual. I'm open to the idea of having a relationship/sex in theory, but no one excites me anymore. What do you think about my situation? Can you offer me any advice or tips?

If you had sexual urges in the past, it means that you are probably still not asexual.

It is possible that your libido is down because of hormonal changes or maybe an emotional change. If you feel bad because of the breakup it would be common to lose some sex drive. In that case, it will come back after some time.

My advice would be to wait and see if it changes by itself.

I wouldn't rush to commit to anything right now! Best to just try to take the attitude of "I think I might be, let's just see how this works out!".

You can always hang around the forums, and chat through your feelings here/read about other people's feelings. It's always been very eye-opening for me.

All the best!

It's been a long term situation, and I do feel like something has shifted, but like I said, I'm open to the idea of future sexual relations. I just want to figure out where to place myself so that either way I'll have a sense of community
