I'm new to AVEN, but I've been familiar with the asexual community for about a year or so. When I found the term, it wasn't an instant "Hey, that's me!" Instead it came gradually after more research. I'd like to say I'm pretty informed with the spectrum and use of the suffixes -sexual and -romantic. So why am I posting this? Because it's been almost a year and while to others it might not seem like a long time, I'm ready for answers. I've done as much independent research as I can, and I figured it's time to talk to some knowledgeable people. Here are some things about me that might help you help me. * Heteroromantic * 16 y/o female * Have been in a relationship * Never had intercourse * I don't masturbate due to complete lack of interest * I have almost no interest whatsoever in sex * I often feel annoyed at society's glorification of sex and I don't get the hype * This is reflected within my teenage friend group, where the topic is usually sexual things * I HAVE experienced sexual attraction before, but it was only after being in a relationship for several months. This guy had been a friend for several years prior. * Besides that, I experience it very infrequently, and I can probably count on one hand the number of times it's happened in the past year Demisexual is possible, but even with people with whom I had a close bond with (i.e. my previous relationship), I rarely felt sexual attraction. I'm leaning towards the term Graysexual, but I don't know if what I listed ^ is considered asexual tendencies or just symptoms of a low libido. In your experience, what would you say? Regardless whether or not you are ace, you are welcomed here I think you may be gray asexual because you stated you HAVE experience sexual attraction before. Demisexuality is possible. Just because you are demi doesn't mean you'll experience sexual attraction with every person you have a deep emotional bond with. But yes,I think you are gray asexual. This website may help!
