I kind of knew that I was a solid liberal before I started....this only confirmed the obvious.

I got Young Outsider.

"This relatively young, largely independent group holds a mix of conservative and liberal views. And while more lean toward the Republican Party than the Democratic Party, Young Outsiders generally express unfavorable opinions of both major parties. They are largely skeptical of activist government, as a substantial majority views government as wasteful and inefficient. Yet many diverge from the two conservative typology groups – Steadfast Conservatives and Business Conservatives – in their strong support for the environment and many liberal social policies."

Business Conservative. I've landed in Steadfast Conservative before also.

Hard Pressed Skeptic. I'm not a negative person just realistic. And expierence mixed with reason shape my opinions. Not political movements or parties. Two choices or maybe three every election cycle is not exactly a reason to put on my Ra Ra shoes and cheer. Especially the last two they trotted out there !

Solid liberal.   No surprise.   On other tests I've been socialist, but those were more nuanced.

Young Outsiders and it's true I don't lean towards the Democrat party, however I don't lean towards the Republican party either.

Young Outsider or whatever that means. As others have said, there is no middle ground at all, so yeah, it sucks.

As for the other test:

Political compass is my favorite test as well.

Anyway, this one makes me a Solid Liberal though a lot of my answers would have been neutral or somewhere in-between if given the chance to answer that way.

Solid liberal and the other test confirms that.

I'm a liberal conservative. I believe in people looking after themselves as much as possible and the state helping only those in genuine need. Business should be left alone and as much as possible should be privatised. The liberal part of me is when it comes to gender and sexuality. I don't believe religion should interfere in such things. In fact I'd love for all countries to more towards secular societies. Maybe I watch too much sci fi lol

I'm more liberal than conservative but I found this quiz funny

Apparently I'm solid liberal! I thought I was more moderate than I am. To be fair, I fell in between on some of the questions and just had to make up my mind randomly.

It is not farfetched to say Liberals in general are now hard Left in American society. Not as hard as Europe, but far from center.

I'm an actual moderate, and people on the Left think I'm an extreamist. Just to put it in perspective.

So if you find yourself agreeing more often than not with the liberal media, or political shows like John Oliver or Colbert. You are not a really a moderate, but a full blown Liberal.

What kinds of beliefs do you have that you consider moderate?

I got Young Outsider. WTF I'm 62. As for the political compass - I'm dead centre, which is true I vote Independent (except for the latest 2017 election when I broke this to ensure that May had a majority to pursue BREXIT, see where that got us).

Wow, this is spooky I'm almost the same, mine is just above you, almost straddling the line. And I got the Young Outsider. Are we related ?

hehe... I don't know how accurate that is... I usually tend to agree with people who are in the middle of the green square.

Ha, ha, who knows. I tend to score a bit differently every time I take the test, but it's always around the center area.

Next Generation Left

along with 12% of the public.

"Generally young, well-educated and financially comfortable, the Next Generation Left have very liberal attitudes on many issues, including homosexuality, abortion, the environment and foreign policy. While overall supportive of an activist government, most are wary of expanding the social safety net. Most also have relatively positive views of Wall Street’s impact on the economy. While most affiliate with the Democratic Party or lean Democratic, few consider themselves strong Democrats. Compare groups on key issues."

I guess so.

 I think it's accurate.

The complete lack of any sort of nuance is this test is astounding. I wasn't even able to finish the test because I knew the results would be wholly inaccurate.

Solid Liberal

Generally affluent and highly educated, most Solid Liberals strongly support the social safety net and take very liberal positions on virtually all issues. Most say they always vote Democratic and are unflagging supporters of Barack Obama. Overall, Solid Liberals are very optimistic about the nation’s future and are the most likely to say that America’s success is linked to its ability to change, rather than its reliance on long-standing principles. On foreign policy, Solid Liberals overwhelmingly believe that good diplomacy – rather than military strength – is the best way to ensure peace.
