To romantics and aromantics and everyone inbetween: what does marriage mean to you?

It used to mean a lot to me in terms of having this perfect fantasy of my life.. now I don't really care either way but I'd love to get rid of my last name so maybe I'll marry some day.

Marriage just seems like an overly exhausting, expensive and stressful ordeal that really wouldn't make much of a difference for my relationship. It isn't really necessary in my opinion although I am the type of person who changes their mind quite often so it may change in the future.
