Sherlocks
So I ordered my birth certificate from this place called Vitacheck as this is what the paper the local county office gave me. I went to check with my bank if it took out the 52$ which it did and said that it was just shipped. UP takes 1-3 days and ships weekends so latest I should get it Monday. However when I checked who made the charge on the card my bank said it was from a correctional facility in the county I was born. Does this sound normal?
Moophie
No. But judging from user reviews they don't seem to do well a lot of the time...
RoseGoesToYale
Something sounds kind of sketch. I've never heard of vital records being kept at a correctional facility (but then, maybe I don't know something). If you can get the number for the facility listed, you may want to call and make sure your purchase went to the right place.
Kelly
Vitacheck? Or is it VitalChek?

iff
Prisons are a source of cheap labour for companies. If anyone has seen HBO's oz, one of the storylines revolved around a telemarketing company. This isn't just a made up dramatisation but https://www.forbes.com/forbes/2010/0628/companies-televerde-hitachi-netapp-cisco-salvation-at-center.html Companies can use these to pay below minimum wage to the employees https://www.google.ie/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/sustainable-business/2015/dec/09/prison-work-program-ohsa-whole-foods-inmate-labor-incarceration So it isn't a surprise to me
