How do you feel about porn?

Recommended Posts

Personally I can't watch porn unless there's a way I can disassociate myself with it. Either it has to be something that would never happen in real life or it's pov from the opposite gender's view. If I imagine myself as part of it I'm immediately turned off and I was just wondering how everyone else here feels about porn.

It's so repetitive.

I do enjoy looking at the female form, and if it looks like the female performer is actually having a good time, even better.

I like it when the women is in control of what is going to happen, or the guy actually kind of begs for attention.

I hate it when the male performer is too demanding or domineering.

Then it is just about degrading the woman.

I do like it when you have a female performer is solo and create a whole story through play acting.

That is entertaining for me.

I like a story line in what I watch.

For the most part though I have seen enough that it is really no longer that interesting.

I didn't get into watching it until college, and now I think I am slowly phasing out of it.

Being Asexual/Autochorissexual porn is my sole sexual outlet so I like it. Like you I have to disassociate myself from it. I either watch Lesbian porn or solo female porn which don't include my gender.

I've done some secondary research on the reality of what you think you see through the porn camera. Porn is worse than fake.

If you want to have a good laugh at bad acting, this is whay porn fills in for. Thats pretty much what I can say about it

Yeah, same thing with me - I need to disassociate myself from the things I see to enjoy them. But personally I'm too picky for porn. I just hate the grunts, the rudeness and the vulgarity which are  presented. I'm interested and at times even fascinated when sex is shown in an artistic and mostly just implied way. I guess literature is just more of a thing for me. Easier to leave things up to ones own imagination without getting foreign genitalia in close-ups on the screen.
Porn is just too mindless and soulless for me.

And its effect on children in puberty is frightening. Especially when they have no alternative source for information..

I love it. There's plenty that I don't like, of course, like any other form of entertainment.

What saddens me is when people talk about porn like it's all one thing. That's just a bit of ignorance, because 'porn' implies so many different possibilities it's truly endless. Even though my personal preferences are quite narrow.

I don't enjoy a whole lot of 'live action' stuff. Unless it's raw and less polished, more amateur. And mostly I'm only into 'gay' themes. There's been a small amount of 3D machinima-like vids popping up from time to time. They're not much to look at now, but they're getting better. Some animated yaoi are worthwhile, but usually for the story and not so much the animation quality. Hmm... yeah, no the animation usually sucks. There are also several excellent web comics that dabble in porn... Well, some are straight up porn, but most of the popular ones are heavy in story and character development. Which honestly makes the sexy parts all the more interesting/exciting. And, of course there's manga. Omg, so much yaoi manga... The stories are so repetitive, but some mangaka are such amazing artists, I have to respect their abilities.

Also, I'd like to note that people always complain about how much women moan in porn, and, heh, anyone who says that has not watched gay porn. Cause, yeesh. Typically any videos I watch are with the sound off.

I find it very, very, very boring. I tried so hard to get into it, I've seen quite a variety over the years and none of it has ever done anything for me. I thought maybe that like...since I'm sort of a "little" that'd I'd be interested in porn that pandered to that but nope. In fact since I tend to view my kinks completely non-sexually I was actually was even more repulsed than usual. Even hentai bores me, like uh....Boku no Pico, right? Well like I thought the characters were super cute and stuff but all the sex bits were just obnoxious.

So needless to say I don't watch it. I due appreciate artistic nudity though, the human form is amazing.

I find that a lot of hardcore porn involves the viewer in ethically grotesque attitudes, since the degradation of women is a common theme. Besides that, to me porn is just too boring and too gross to look at.

The acting is hilarious. In fact, I've kind of have a bad/cheesy movie night once or twice because of it. Other than that, it usually doesn't get a reaction out of me other than "...meh..." unless it's weird, extreme, or both (which feels awkward to watch to say the least. It's like watching a train wreck: I don't like what's happening, but can't stop staring).

I am very concerned about the degradation of people and the mistreatment/abuse of performers that is frequently found in the porn industry. I also find distressing the various problems porn viewing can cause in consumers. Personally, I have never watched a porn video or searched out porn images, but as an avid movie watcher, I've run into plenty of sex scenes in R or PG-13 movies. Normally I just skip over these scenes because they disgust me or make me uncomfortable. On the other hand, I quite enjoy some types of written porn (aka erotica), while other types I find even more repulsive than the movie scenes. Personally, I'm now striving to avoid all forms of porn for religious reasons.

Once in a great while I skim through it.

I don't like porn at all. I've accidentally come across it on places like Tumblr and from what little I've seen, I find porn gross. To me, porn kind of makes sex seem somewhat vulgar. Next to that, I just can't watch porn because I find the genitals of both sexes gross to look at. However, I would say my biggest issue with porn is the degradation of women. I notice a lot of times in porn, there's these scenarios where a woman is abused and a person gets off on it. I find that to be messed up and I believe that it gives people the wrong idea about how sex with a woman should be. In spite of how I feel about porn though, I would say that I can sometimes enjoy erotic literature. In the case of literature, things can just be left to the imagination and you don't actually have to see things. I feel that with erotic literature, you can visualize the sensual aspects of sex without actually thinking about the sex itself.

Concerning degradation of women in porn... degradation and humiliation can be regular kinks which may be arousing to watch or tried out by couples like any other kink too. It's a thing with regulations. If it's properly discussed it's 'just' a roleplay. I don't think that it's useful to critizise it as a part of the consensual scenes in porn. Maybe it's not ones kink but this is simply a thing of taste. On the regular porn-websites it's scripted and it can be exhilarating for some. It just becomes problematic when people don't realise that it's scripted and that stuff like that does need limits, agreements, preparation and trust. You can't just slap your partner and call him/her a slut without discussing their kinks and limits in the first place and expect the partner to be absolutely rapturous about it. Furthermore some porn-watching people (in general) need to understand that sex-related behaviour isn't stuff that is of any importance outside of the bedroom. Mutual respect is key.

That's just a thing I wanted to put out there because degradation came up, sorry for interrupting, people

I used to be fascinated with the idea of gay porn, but in a relatively observant/researcher kind of way. I think my interest mainly stemmed from never being exposed to that in real life or in books. That interest faded in an extremely condensed time span... Realistically after about half way through watching the first video when I realized that I was more interested in learning the relationship aspects and not the sexual aspects. I tend to like things that I cannot relate to... Sexual and romantic feelings included. So of course, the idea of porn was interesting... The execution of watching it, not so much.

Porn is something that people either enjoy or they don't. I personally do not at all. It is boring, the acting is poor, and I would rather spend my time doing something else. I will say however, that I thoroughly enjoy art regarding the human body (i.e sculptures).

Have never watched. Have never wanted to watch. Recognize that it's necessary for some and am fine with it existing just rather it not be around me...

Bored, for the most part. Occasionally disgusted, especially if it involves food. There are some things that should never be done to food, ugh!

I don't have much experience with porn because it's never really interested me. I watched a run of the mill porn that my boyfriend had in high school and didn't like the feeling it gave me (very empty, forced, false...), so that's about the extent of it. It's not for me, but I know some aces do enjoy it.

I do not watch any porn what so ever, I avoid it since it's not even a tiny bit satisfying. Anything with sexual scenes I avoid and sexual talk as well. So I never seen anything that was sexual and I have no interest, I keep hearing others say they love it. Nope, not for me I will not watch it at all.

I never understood the point of it and just don't like it. There's a pretty solid chance that a porn scene ends up disgusting me more than some gory horror movie.

I think lots of people will judge me here but I work as a Cam Girl on site for adults and being asexual doesnt metter in that. It is not a problem for me to pretend sexy I just dont feel pleasure or enjoy it and same story with porn.

I don't mind read yaoi comics or BL novels, but thinking about watching real life porn make me disgust. When I read yaoi mangas i try to focus on relationship between characters rather depiction of sex in it

I'm autochoris, and yes, I watch porn. I often have to go through lots of bad stuff to find anything that I like, but there is absolutely porn that I enjoy out there. And sure; there's probably a lot of shady and/or abusive things going on in the porn industry, and that deserves to be pointed out, but there is also a lot that isn't like that. It's a big industry. (Not that I'm an expert on any of these issues, though. I'm mostly just posting for that autochorissexual awareness. :P)

There are many different types of porn, and many subcategories.

Regular porn does not interest me one bit.

Live porn is really iffy for me. Chances are, I won't be aroused by it. Hentai is somewhat more likely to arouse me, but still touch and go. Erotica is more likely to arouse me, but that's probably just because it's easier to find one with my kinks. Although with hentai and erotica, I sometimes end up reading it for the plot and completely skipping the porny bits because I no longer want to be aroused. I find this amusingly confusing because I am very kinky and have a high libido. It's just that sometimes a good story is better than orgasms. :cake:

I'm not into it. I work in the entertainment industry and there's a heck of a lot of abuse in the porn wing of entertainment. A lot of exploitation and mistreatment. A lot of sexual abuse survivors end up performing in it, so it's like the producers are exploiting their issues and making a hell of a lot of money on them. And to add to the exploitation, many sexual abuse survivors also view porn to try and "fix" their issues and process the atrocities committed against them. Needless to say, it doesn't work. No, I'm not saying all people who view were victims. Not judging anyone here, of course. Its just a mess all around IMO. I'm not comfortable using people as sex objects anyway, even if they did sign on the dotted line to let the public do so. Just MYHO. 😊
