Sherlocks
If say someone is kinky, and asexual but has a preference for either males or female does that still count as asexual if they don't want sex directly but are super into non-sexual BDSM acts or would that fall more under hetero/homoromantic category? KendraPM
Kinks are pretty separate from sexual attraction. Heck, a lot of kinks are pretty separate from sex. Most kinks are about other things, feelings of freedom, control, headspaces, feeling cared for, etc. Kinks are sort of their own category. Kind of like sports, some people are into them, some aren't. Some people love basketball but dislike all other sports. Some people love watching baseball and track, but only like to play hockey and soccer. And so on. There are several asexuals who are into the kink scene on here and preferring a certain gender'd partner to express their kinks with doesn't automatically make one non-ace. Even people who experience zero attraction of any kind may prefer one gender over another when it comes to their partners. And even straight or gay people may find that they prefer to express their kinks with people of a different gender than they are attracted to.
