A mere monkey
I'm mostly centrist, some views lean towards one side or the other, though. I don't really want to label myself as either left or right, since people immediately assume some opinions you may have, and I don't fully agree with either side to live up to those assumptions. -1=e^ipi
Where the center is depends on the country. Centrist in the USA is different from Canada, Sweden, Turkey, etc. So there isn't really a true objective center, which means there isn't really a true objective right and left since those terms only have meaning with respect to a center. (A) & A
"Other". I'm an anarchist, in theory... And in practice, I'm more a libertarian socialist. I refuse to identify as "liberal", however, considering that at least in America liberals tend to strongly authoritarian, sometimes more so than conservatives. At the very least, they love their jackboots just as much... It's just that they focus on different things. I'm even leery to use the "progressive" label since these days it's pretty much hijacked by the sort of people who think you're an awful person if you've ever laughed at an off color joke. Sally
Would have chosen socialist had it been on the menu.
SorryNotSorry
Honestly, I don't understand why the institution of politics needs to exist at all, were it not for most people being either masters by nature or servants by nature. Be your own leader!
Polygon
Realistically I'm liberal, but I'm going with centrist in the interest of keeping an open mind as well as not being associated with the cesspool that is left vs. right politics.

Sp0ld3r
I think my views can be described as socially liberal and fiscally centrist, or at least somewhat fiscally right-leaning.

Togee
Well, I'm left-wing and liberal. It's funny how liberals are now left-wing, whilst in fact they aren't the same.
Homer
I voted "other" because it should be about topics and specific issues rather than some general approach. If I find myself in common with liberals when it comes to a specific issue, fine. The left? Fine. Conservatives? Fine. Right? Fine.

Wouldn't that make you reluctant to agree with people on the far end of either side since they're so far away from your beliefs? Or is it more of a case of "mashing up colors" so you end up white (neutral)?

It means that I will borrow ideas from the left or right as I see reasonable and that I essentially want to avoid the tribalistic, hivemind type of thinking that comes with being liberal or conservative. luzblue
I'm a proud GREEN ANARCHIST, meaning I think humans are a plague to the Earth. (But I assure you I'm usually a pretty nice person)
XYZ96
I'm probably (a bit) left of center, depending on my mood or the specific topic or where I am (left in on country can be dead center or even slightly right in another), I'm probably either left or center... I agree mostly with social democracy, I think (which is usually a bit left I believe, not as left as socialism or whatnot is though)... so here's the very basics of what I believe: Spoiler everyone should be free to be themselves as long as it doesn't interfere with someone else's freedom to be themselves (so you aren't free to be a murderer, because that interferes with victims freedom to do anything as corpses can't really do much...), but as some people are born with less advantage then others (as in people with disabilities or from less fortunate households), they need to be supported by the state if they can't for some reason support themselves (there should be protection of employes, so they aren't wrongfully fired and can't support themselves, and if they are fired there should be state run insurance so they can at least still pay for food and if all else fails also housing and work finding help places...), so there should be a good strong social safety net, with health-, disability-, retirement-, and unemployment insurance (I think I forgot one or two, but you should get the point..), so if someone experiences some bad fortune they can still bounce back (fun fact: the social safety net (in Germany at least) was made by right-wing monarchists to keep themselves in power ...) I also believe religion and state should be completely separate, and education should mostly be state run (as long as private run education faculties keep up with state run places, for all I care they can still exist for example if mr. and mrs. dudilyda really want there kids to go to religious schools or whatever..) and I believe universities should, like schools be mostly state run and therefor be "free" or very low charge so lesser fortunate people can still get education without going in debt for the rest of their lives (again if mr. and mrs. dudilyda want their kids to be in religious school till they get a PhD in Environmental Conservation, then for all I care there can still be some private universities as well) --> so I think the government should provide services and help people out of poverty, though if that person decides to stay in poverty, so be it... I also believe corporations need restrictions. For one to keep them from becoming to big and forming monopolies and preventing smaller places from ever being able to compete, leading to a very morphed version of capitalism that no longer harbors most of it's positive aspects... (I do not however think capitalism should be abolished...) I think this view is actually fairly common, at least where I live... there are more specific issues where I also tend to be a bit more liberal then conservative I guess, but I won't go into to them because that'd be getting to specific... Ruru+Saphhy=Garnet
Eh, I am bored, so I will post. As I typed in another thread, I am almost 100% Conservative in my views. I prefer a smaller government, I believe the government should tax less and spend less, I am pro life, and I believe strongly in personal responsibility. I am all for the constitution. The only thing liberal about me is lgbt+ issues. That is what I believe Please don't attack me!

Guest
Although my point of view on many facts can look liberal, I can call myself centrist and marked this option. I support gay marriages, adoption, abortion and euthanasia but my view on portraying sex in nowaday society is very critical, not from conservative but rather feminist point of view. Tainted
I'm a lapsed anarchist, I feel that none of the UK parties are what I want, but as I've gotten older I've realised that my lifestyle is not suited for anarchy (and standing against UKIP was certainly a factor) Since then I supported the green party as I saw them as being the least poisonous of the vipers...until Corbyn was elected for Labour, now I support him. Have considered running for local office but don't know where to start, a friend from America has dubbed me a 'young Bernie Sanders' but as I don't follow American politics I'm not sure if that is a compliment or not
ThaHoward
Liberal: Social-Liberal, Conservative-Liberal or Classical Liberal Depend largely on which issues I believe are he most pressing. Now I don’t consider myself left-wing, and do not believe liberal equate left wing and the other way around, so I won't vote.
Spectre/Ex/Machina
Conservatarian Social Libertarian, Moderate Isolationist, Minarchist, Moderate Conservative, Constitutionalist, Center-Right, Republican. I don't trust government, but, I feel it's a necessary evil. I believe the government should be obeying the constitution; it is not a living document to follow at your whimzy. On social matters, unless it is a proven hazard, government has no place getting involved. In terms of our position on the international stage, I don't believe we are meant to be the worlds police. I believe in protecting tradition while being welcoming to alternative lifestyles, and protecting religion while maintaining secularism. I feel strongly about putting America first before dealing with international issues. Lastly, that the USA is a republic and not a democracy, representation over mob rule. Not Active
Centrist/Independent. Both sides have their bad parts. I believe that the people should vote on a bill/act/regulation/etcetera before it is put in effect or even sent to legislature. The government and it's leaders should also be more involved with the people and go around to different sections of the area they govern and ask the people what they want. Also, listen more to individuals instead of just ignoring them. The leader should be strong/aggressive (mentally), but compassionate towards the citizens as well. I like the supposed patriotism (the main reason I started following them a couple of years ago, I wanted to feel like I was in America, all of those American flags and support of the military... But they got too obnoxious) of conservatives, but like Joe Parrish said, they don't care too much about social issues. Don't even get me started on their annoying and over-the-top obnoxious supporters. They are the main reason that I avoid 99% of the internet. They are like zombies. They are everywhere. Not the okay ones, but the crazed type. I like liberals for there support of social issues (I support most of their stances, but then there are things like abortions where I have mixed opinions) and new technology, but they tend to be less in order and gets easily upset with people that don't agree, even if it is slight opposition. Differing political beliefs is a reason for them to not want to be your friend anymore.
