The most likely explanation is bisexuality. There are a bunch of less likely explanations that could be true if we have some reason to start by assuming you're asexual.

ROFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OP, if you are looking at them with "sexy thoughts" in mind, it could be a "trick" of your brain. In other words if you're intentionally looking up people whom you think you might want to have sex with, as opposed to if you just happened to encounter the same person on the street. In that case, it's the thought of the action that gets you going, NOT necessarily the person.

You can associate people with events or feelings too, like having a favorite actor for certain roles or types of movies, maybe you look up these people because you alread have associations of arousal somehow, regarding them.

As other people have said, it is most likely you are sexually aroused.

Very likely to be sexual attraction.

Sure, if there is a want in the first place. Otherwise, it's just a physiological response which is involuntary.

Since the OP is deliberately looking up pictures of people the OP considers hot, I think it's really a stretch to say it's involuntary.

Attraction doesn't require desire.

Right... I, for one do not think being involuntarily aroused has to do with attraction. Just a mere automatic brain response via association of sex.

If arousal were triggered by nothing, you would be right. But here arousal is triggered by looking at / thinking about a person, and that's exactly what sexual attraction is.

Except that there has been cases where arousal were triggered by "nothing" or something so bizarre and can't be sexual in any form, and not to mention there are studies which shown that physical arousal does not correlate to subjective arousal. Women correlates around 25 percent, and men correlates around 50 percent. Do I need to show a study where it is shown that women are aroused by the sights of chimps having sex? And no, none of those women are attracted to the chimps. They were aroused because there is something which can be related to sex or having sexual thoughts involved in it, and that happens at involuntary level.Sexual attraction is actually more about emotional desire than physical arousal, and by stating arousal has to do with sexual attraction, that just means people who lacks the ability to have physical arousal can't be attracted to anyone at a sexual level.

They're talking about deliberately looking at someone who has traits you find attractive and becoming sexually aroused as a direct result of those traits. That is a way "sexual attraction" manifests for many people, yes though that on its own doesn't indicate whether or not one is asexual. I've known lots of ace guys who get aroused by naked breasts, or watching a woman masturbate or whatever. Yes they are experiencing attraction that is causing them to become sexually aroused, but unless they actually want to have sex with that woman (or would have sex with her in the perfect world or whatever) then that can still be asexual.

I get turned on by specific guys (or girls depending on the day) I just have no desire to actually have sex with them or anyone. That's why I identify as grey-A.

If people can get their jollies from pieces of the Berlin Wall, I don't think there's anything too "bizarre" in this world. People get aroused by all sorts of things because they find these things attractive, pure and simple. Arousal is a really strong reaction to something or someone... it's not just "this is exciting", it's "holy crap this is so exciting my whole body is responding". It's how attraction manifests itself in a really really obvious way, like your body saying, "just in case you weren't aware, this is really attractive". You can't control it and there's absolutely nothing wrong with it. But attraction is completely separate from desire, emotional or otherwise.

I get aroused by certain smells, but that's because I really like them and they remind me of someone, not because I desire the subject of the smell. I do however find the smell attractive. I want more of it, and I enjoy it. Same principle.

I don't know how else to explain that attraction and desire are different... other than the fact that you (general you) can be attracted to someone or something but never have the desire to act on it. Don't get me wrong, they can happen simultaneously, but they're quite distinct. Attraction can be fleeting and fast, just a quick "hmm" towards a random person, twinge of arousal perhaps and then it's gone. No desire to hump them there and then.

The chimps thing... there have been other studies involving different animals too. People had the same reaction to lions or something, so clearly the act of sex itself is attractive. That's why people watch porn. It's stimulating and helps you to reach climax, but it doesn't mean you fancy the actors. That kind of arousal towards sex is definitely involuntary and about the act, but looking at photos without any kind of sexual association or suggestion and getting turned on is just attraction. It's logical and I don't see why people here have such issues with this very real world concept. If folks are worried about not being asexual any more, it's daft because this website is proof that attraction doesn't determine sexuality.
