It turns out my sexuality may be actually be there, but inactive

Recommended Posts

After experiencing huge strain on my deck, my libido spiked so much. My sexuality was activated after surgery. Inactive after few hours of surgery. I been to two surgeries and that is how it went. So, what is this?

Drug influenced sex-drive?

Well Rep has always said he was sexual then "became" asexual. But what I've always read from what he says (especially in chat) is that his sexuality is still there, it just became dormant/repressed for whatever reason (probably hormonal) ..Just the way you talk about women Rep and sex, and some of the comments you've made to me..have ways seemed *very* sexual. I always assumed your sexuality would "come back" eventually and maybe this is it :)

It could be, but I think it more has to do with how my brain responds under the influence of body stress and truama. Basically, relief from huge amount of body truama could make me want sex again. Something is up there. In normal scenarios, my sexuality is so dormant, I am indifferent and at times, very revolted by sex because I don't understand how sexual people feel. It's like it is dead, not even there.

It ain't coming back like normal. My sexuality is seemingly only activated with body truama. I see zero evidence my sexuality is going to be active in normal states.

You underwent brain surgery, correct? (I remember you talking about it on another thread. At least I hope it was you...).

You should talk to your neurologist/neurosurgeon about this, they will be able to answer your questions better than anyone on here can.

The thing is, a brain trauma can damage pretty much any body function. Depending on the localization and severity of the lesion, the ability to speak, understand, do everyday stuff may be impaired. Personality and behavior changes are to be expected as well. Sometimes things return back to the pre-trauma/pre-op state, but healing usually takes time. Seems like some brain area responsible for sexuality was damaged during surgery, which would explain your sudden loss of sexual desire, and now things may be getting back to the way they had been before the operation. Have you ever heard of neuroplasticity?

No, I didn't go through brain surgery. I went through chest surgery, and nose surgery. I know of the concept of neuroplasticity, and I do consider it as a explain as to why I am this way.

Wait. What you're saying is merely that you've become more libidoist. This doesn't necessarily mean that you want to involve other people to fulfill your physical urges (do you?).

Yesterday, yes I was for a while more libidoist. I was working myself off with a good amount of weight on my chest, and that really hurts, but it also increased my libido to a much stronger degree which brings me to the revelation that it's likely that my sexuality is dormant. Only temporarily awakened by body trauma, and after the brain chemicals goes away, so does my sexuality go back to being dormant.
