Not what I thought it was.

Not sure if this is the right forum but;

I was reading through some online articles when I saw an ad for this: www.eater.com/2016/5/18/11704204/kashi-certified-transitional-branding-organic

When I first saw this I thought, "Huh, this might be going a little overboard. I like the idea of more trans models, but a cereal brand for people who are transitioning?"

Turns out, nope. Not what I thought it was. The women on the boxes probably aren't even trans.

It was funny, but it got me wondering if something like this has happened to anyone else? Have you ever, because of a personal awareness of trans or even asexuality, read more into something than turned out to be there?

just an owl

I was playing game [Town of salem] and one of the roles is "transporter" but often shortened to trans, so people will go "I'm trans" and sometimes I'll think "what's that got to do with anythin-oh..."

Also, a Youtuber uploaded a video called "packing" and I thought it meant packing as in what transmasc people do... "huh, I didn't realise they were trans or - oh they're going on holiday nevermind"

I can't tell you how many times I've said I was looking for a new binder, or googled "binders" ... and been met with offers of the notebook variety of binders, or google directing me to Staples or Office Depot :P

The funny thing is that something similar happened to me but it was backwards because that was how I found out about genderqueer.

Same here! I was revising with some friends and something chemical or to do with diffraction came up that had a "trans" prefix... :P
