Hello. I have this important question about my gender identity.

I am biologically female, but I've been questioning my identity for a while. I, for one, have never viewed myself as inherently male or female. More like neither and both at the same time.

When it comes to femininity, I do not have strong feelings. I've never been bothered when people call me "she". In fact, I love my female body and, as for transition, I've never even thought about it. However, I do not feel female at all. My personality is stereotypically way more male than female. Aggressive, logical, level-headed, confident, physically and mentally strong, unemotional, analytical, with a sense of duty towards my friends and family... Even the slightest reference to my "femininity" or the whole "since you're a girl, you have to..." angers me to no end and makes me almost hate myself.

When it comes to masculinity, I do not have strong feelings either. I don't mind "he". But I don't want it either. I have actually fantasized many times about cross-dressing and I sometimes, even rarely, daydream about being a guy. It's nothing serious, but it definitely gives me a sense of excitement. However, when I actually proceeded to dress like that, the experience was awkward and aggravating. A big no. Huge disappointment.

When it comes to gender neutrality... I like "they" better than any other pronoun. Wearing unisex clothes is so exhilarating to me. It gives me a sense of flexibility and comfort... To be what I want, even shift to how I see myself. And in the realms of interaction, I like to be viewed as neither. Especially online, where it is easier, I try to make my social profiles reveal as less as possible about my real gender. If I feel like it, I can appear as either. It's just my mood.

So, what should I identify as?

It sounds like you could qualify for numerous terms:

Cis-Genderless / Cis by default

Agender

Neutrosis

Bigender

Androgyne

Check the definitions and see which you think fits you best. Personally you sound like either Cis-genderless or (guessing by the last paragraph) Androgyne to me.

You could use genderqueer. I'm AFAB, still present mostly as female but my internal programming is completely male identified.

I get it, I get it. I am a gay man living in a woman's body.

And I'm a lesbian in a man's body.

Are you? Are you really ;)

Me too. An asexual lesbian at that!

But, guys. I was not kidding. Perhaps I am indeed a male in a woman's body, without feeling any dysphoria though. So... I guess I am not transgender, since I do not wish to change anything. The neutrois or androgynous terms might be valid for me.

Dysphoria or transitioning isn't required to be trans.. I am a male in a female body and the dysphoria I do have is entirely related to sex or being sexualized as a female.. If I was the correct gender, I would be very much gay (and Demisexual instead of a sex repulsed ace).

I can actually relate to that. The only dysphoria I feel is about being sexualized or having gender roles imposed on me... whether male or female. That's why I think neutrois or androgynous might fit better. If I were indeed trans, wouldn't I sort of embrace the male gender role? What I said was that it fits me, not that I necessarily feel comfortable with it, even if my personality is closer to the whole "men are this, men are that" situation.

Non binary identities do fall under the trans umbrella, but you also don't need to use that label- it's entirely up to you. Being trans isn't limited to male/female, it can be anyone whose internal identity doesn't match that of their biological body.. I use genderqueer because I'm not planning on transitioning (because FtM, to me, alludes to an intention to transition).

OK. It seems that I will simply use non-binary. Thank you very much for your time!
