Gender Confusion?

MaddoxJ

Recommended Posts

I am only 14, so I'm not trying to fit myself into a box. That being said, I'm very confused as to what gender I am.

So I was born female, and I thought that I'm trans, as I don't identify with the female gender and instead I identify with the male gender. Always have. Simple, right?

The thing is, the day before yesterday, for he first time ever, I didn't feel male. Is there a name for very very occasionally not feeling male????

There will be a word for it, but I don't remember these kinds of things myself :P

So I myself am a trans guy. I just wondered if you could please explain to me what feeling "male" actually feels like to you?

You could be genderfluid/flux and only shift between genders/intensities very occasionally. Alternatively, boyflux is a gender in which one feels male most of the time but this feeling may fluctuate in intensity. Vibragender is similar, involving a gender that is mostly stable but occasionally fluctuates.

Hope that helped. If you want more information, the link below has a pretty comprehensive list of genders

Welcome to AVEN MaddoxJ!

I think Emery has a point; most people aren't constantly aware of their gender(s), or just don't "feel" gendered at all times. If there's a day or two where you just don't feel as attached to being a man (or boy) then that's absolutely fine! Don't let anyone use that against you to tell you that you're not really a man, because it's simply not true. Cis people do this too.

If you want a particular gender label to acknowledge that this happens for you (ie if you feel like this new phenomenon of not feeling gendered on rare occasion is important enough to your identity that you want a word for it), then I'd suggest checking out the words Jobi1 mentioned. The only one I'd add is demiboy (being mostly a boy, but not enough to fully identify as a boy), but the others are more likely to resonate than that one.

Let us know if there's anything I can clarify or if you have more questions!
