I'll pick a random one to answer:

How many languages do you speak?

I speak 2 languages fluently (English (duh) and French). I've been learning sign language since elementary school.

Who is your hero?: I don't really have one.
If you could live anywhere, where would it be?: Somewhere fairly northerly, where I speak the language at least to some extent. Canada, Austria, or Germany would be the main contenders, and Canada would be a lot easier to move to.
What is your biggest fear?: Dogs.
What is your favorite family vacation?: Any time we go somewhere where I can hike and get away from people, although somewhat on the reverse of that I also really enjoy going to Montréal for the Grand Prix.
What would you change about yourself if you could?: Less afraid of things, including socialising with people, dogs, and medical stuff.
What really makes you angry?: Lots of things. Stupidity perhaps the most.
What motivates you to work hard?: Having solid goals.
What is your favorite thing about your career?: I love drawing and painting and all kinds of art, so the favourite part is easy.
What is your biggest complaint about your job?: It's really hard to get work.
What is your proudest accomplishment?: Getting over my fear enough to start trying to make it on my own as an illustrator.
What is your child's proudest accomplishment?: This will ever be non-applicable.
What is your favorite book to read?: The Lord of the Rings.
What makes you laugh the most?: Absurd humour played straight.
What was the last movie you went to? What did you think?: The Force Awakens. I thought it was pretty good. My expectations were low, so it handily exceeded them.
What did you want to be when you were young?: An paleontologist, an astronaut, or a fighter jet pilot. Yes, these were mostly based on what sounded cool and interesting and not what I was good at.
What does your child want to be when he/she grows up?: Not applicable, haven't got one, never want one, and so forth.
If you could choose to do anything for a day, what would it be?: Maybe spend half the day karting and then spend the rest of the day in a forest somewhere reading a book. Really, it would depend on my mood.
What is your favorite game or sport to watch and play?: Formula 1, hockey, Formula E, other motorsport. In that order. That's to watch, of course; I don't really play any of those (closest it comes is that I do like karting and I did try to play street hockey as a kid).
Would you rather ride a bike, ride a horse, or drive a car?: Ride a bike if I'm in an area with no cars or dogs on the paths I might be biking on, and it's a nice day; drive a car if I'm going a long distance, if the weather is poor, or if I do have to contend with other people around.
What would you sing at Karaoke night?: Nothing. I can't sing. Also, karaoke is much too loud.
What two radio stations do you listen to in the car the most?: I typically listen to mix CDs, actually, which results in almost entirely metal of different varieties. If I don't have those, I turn to the metal station or the classic rock station.
Which would you rather do: wash dishes, mow the lawn, clean the bathroom, or vacuum the house?: Dishes.
If you could hire someone to help you, would it be with cleaning, cooking, or yard work?: Cleaning, I guess.
If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?: Ooh... I don't know. There are a lot of things I like. I suppose, if it's all I'm eating, it ought to be nutritious... so, maybe some sort of pasta with grilled vegetables in, rather than pizza.
Who is your favorite author?: J.R.R. Tolkien.
Have you ever had a nickname? What is it?: My name doesn't really nickname well.
Do you like or dislike surprises? Why or why not?: More dislike than like, I suppose, but really I'm fairly neutral. They can be good, they can be bad. I don't necessarily like having things planned out -- indeed, mostly I don't -- but I also don't like having no control over what's going on. If I'm surprising myself, that's great. If it's a surprise within the parameters of things I like, that's great. Otherwise, not so much.
In the evening, would you rather play a game, visit a relative, watch a movie, or read?: Gee... all of those are good. If the game's D&D, evidence would suggest that's what I'd pick most nights. Reading would be first if I'm alone, closely followed by computer gaming, although that might be reversed depending on how I'm feeling. Watching a movie will pretty much always come last of those options.

Would you rather vacation in Hawaii or Alaska, and why?: Hawaii is probably too hot, so I'll pick Alaska.
Would you rather win the lottery or work at the perfect job? And why?: If the lottery is sufficiently large that I wouldn't have to work, that one. Otherwise, I already do what I consider the perfect job for me to be, I just don't make enough money at it... so... yeah. Lottery. I mean, if I don't have to work, that's obviously best.
Who would you want to be stranded with on a deserted island?: Somebody unlikely to drive me crazy who would help me get out of there. Maybe one of my moms, maybe my brother.
If money was no object, what would you do all day?: Play games, read, draw or paint, write, go to interesting places and explore... heck, almost anything.
If you could go back in time, what year would you travel to?: Eh, I don't know. Maybe the 1400s.

How would your friends describe you?: They'd probably end up using the word "quiet" somewhere in there. I don't know other than that. "Funny", maybe? "Reliable"? "Creative"?
What are your hobbies?: Reading, roleplaying (mostly D&D and MERP), computer gaming, HEMA, writing, listening to music, watching F1, hiking, biking, canoeing when the weather's good, karting, watching hockey, theatre, probably some stuff I'm forgetting.
What is the best gift you have been given?: I really don't know. Lots of them. I'll go with my bicycle.
What is the worst gift you have received?: A dress. It was a long time ago.
Aside from necessities, what one thing could you not go a day without?: Having some time to myself.
List two pet peeves: People paying attention to their phone instead of the conversation they're having (or whatever else they're doing), and people taking their dogs out without leashes or barely controlling them on their leashes.
Where do you see yourself in five years?: Publishing a graphic novel, and maybe some books, and making a decent amount of money at illustration. Yeah.
How many pairs of shoes do you own?: Um, one? Maybe two. I have one pair of sneakers, which I wear most of the time, and one pair of boots that I wear in the winter or in the rain. One, of course, is if you don't count the boots as shoes.
If you were a super-hero, what powers would you have?: Super healing. If I'm really lucky, it could count as immortality.
What would you do if you won the lottery?: Invest and save most of the money so that I can be sure to live off of it, and then buy some nice things that I would like. I'd leave only around ~10,000 as spending money, probably, to be safe. Of course, I'm too cautious about money to ever actually buy a lottery ticket, so that's not happening.
What form of public transportation do you prefer?: Train! I love the train. Boats are neat, too.
What's your favorite zoo animal?: Tigers, lions, crocodiles, and... well, I don't think any zoo has komodo dragons. Pick a lizard variety.
If you could go back in time to change one thing, what would it be?: That's tricky, because whatever I changed would be likely to either have no effect or massive ramifications. Obviously one might like to keep some of the worst genocides in history from happening, but how much would that change? I'd have to think more about that.
If you could share a meal with any 4 individuals, living or dead, who would they be?: I wouldn't have anything to say to anyone famous or what, so I'll be boring and just pick my family. Since it's a fantasy meal, both my parents getting along in one place plus my brother and my grandma who I very much wanted to see again before she died.
How many pillows do you sleep with?: Three, but I only really use one of them as a pillow. One goes to help when reading in bed, and keeps me from hitting my head into the headboard at night, and one tube-shaped pillow goes next to the wall so I don't hit my head there.
What's the longest you've gone without sleep (and why)?: About 48 hours; I couldn't sleep the day before leaving for vacation to New Mexico, and then I didn't really sleep at all on the train overnight either. That's the only time I can remember actually falling asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow when I finally got in to the hotel.
What's the tallest building you've been to the top in?: Actually the top, or the highest you can get in the building? I've been as high as you're allowed to get in the Sears Tower a few times, so that would surely be it... but you can't actually get to the top. For that, it would probably be some hotel or other.
Would you rather trade intelligence for looks or looks for intelligence?: I don't care about my appearance, so I would transfer what looks I have into a massive intelligence boost. Yes.
How often do you buy clothes?: When the old ones wear out or I see something I really, really want. Maybe once a year, if I'm unlucky. Usually more like every few years.
Have you ever had a secret admirer?: I hope not, but I really don't know.
What's your favorite holiday?: Christmas.
What's the most daring thing you've ever done?: I'm not sure. I haven't done anything too out there.
What was the last thing you recorded on TV?: Qualifying for the Bahrain Grand Prix.
What was the last book you read?: The Name of the Rose.
What's your favorite type of foreign food?: Italian.
Are you a clean or messy person?: Messy, I guess? I mean, I put things away, but that's about it.
Who would you want to play you in a movie of your life?: Me. I'm an actor. I will take my own ego trip.
How long does it take you to get ready in the morning?: Two minutes or so? I haven't timed it, but as long as it takes to put clothes on and run a brush through my hair.
What kitchen appliance do you use every day?: The sink.
What's your favorite fast food chain?: Fast food? I don't really like much fast food. Can't think of anything. I guess Tim Horton's has good doughnuts.
What's your favorite family recipe?: My oma's Wiener Schnitzel with risotto on the side, which my mom makes now. Really, my oma was an amazing cook, so pretty much anything she ever made might count.
Do you love or hate rollercoasters?: I've never actually been on one, so I don't know.
What's your favorite family tradition?: Playing D&D together.
What is your favorite childhood memory?: Any time that my whole family actually got together and got along and had a good time. I get along great with all of them, but they don't all get along with each other.
What's your favorite movie?: The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the Eighth Dimension.
How old were you when you learned Santa wasn't real?: My parents never tried to tell me that it was real, so I always saw it as just an interesting tradition with no actual truth in it.
Is your glass half full or half empty?: It's at 50%.
What's the craziest thing you’ve done in the name of love?: I drove to the hospital to pick my mom up really early in the morning when I hadn't been able to sleep from worry once, because my brother was sick. I don't know if that counts. I haven't done much that is crazy, but if I ever do, it'll be for my family.
What three items would you take with you on a deserted island?: A radio or other communication device capable of operating in that remote area, and several days' supply of water and food.
What was your favorite subject in school?: Robotics.
What's the most unusual thing you've ever eaten?: Nothing very unusual, I'm afraid. Really, nothing out of the ordinary at all that I can think of.
Do you collect anything?: Figures of gaming, dice, arguably books.
Is there anything you wished would come back into fashion?: Swords.
Are you an introvert or an extrovert?: Introvert.
Which of the five senses would you say is your strongest?: Hearing and sight are both strong. I suppose my hearing is probably more above what most people's is than sight, so that one. Definitely not smell.
Have you ever had a surprise party?: No, happily.
Are you related or distantly related to anyone famous?: Depends on your definition of famous. My opa is locally fairly well-known as a doctor. My oma's mother and opa were both well-known and successful painters.
What do you do to keep fit?: Do the things I want to do and not worry about it. Of course, the things I want to do include weight lifting, biking, and martial arts, so... yeah. Weight lifting's the only one I do for the express purpose of getting stronger/staying strong.
Does your family have a “motto” – spoken or unspoken?: Not that I can think of.
If you were ruler of your own country what would be the first law you would introduce?: I'd probably leave it at near-total anarchy, honestly. Very basic laws is all I'd have.
Who was your favorite teacher in school and why?: I was homeschooled, and so both of my parents equally. In college, my German instructor was pretty awesome.
What three things do you think of the most each day?: My characters for either writing or roleplaying, drawing, and... the third slot changes.
If you had a warning label, what would yours say?: Warning: Do Not Provoke.
What song would you say best sums you up?: Sums me up? I've not thought about it, really. So I'll go with I.M.E. by Helloween, as a cop-out answer.
What celebrity would you like to meet at Starbucks for a cup of coffee?: I don't want to meet a celebrity. I don't want to talk to somebody I don't know. Nobody.
Who was your first crush?: I've never had one.
What's the most interesting thing you can see out of your office or kitchen window?: Trees, squirrels, sometimes a cat, birds, clouds.
On a scale of 1-10 how funny would you say you are?: No clue. Seven.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?: No idea, really. Hopefully being a successful artist.
What was your first job?: Makeup artist at a local theatre company.
If you could join any past or current music group which would you want to join?: None of them, because I have very little to no musical talent and that would not help any of them.
How many languages do you speak?: Two. English is my native tongue, but I am decently proficient in German. I'm working on French, but nowhere near there yet.
What is your favorite family holiday tradition?: Lighting a fire and playing board games on Christmas Eve. We don't do it as much as we used to, but hey, I still like it.
Who is the most intelligent person you know?: That is a toss-up between my opa and one of my moms. They're both extremely intelligent people.
If you had to describe yourself as an animal, which one would it be?: Cat, maybe?
What is one thing you will never do again?: Take a gravel-strewn corner at 25 miles per hour on my bike to avoid being near dogs. (I hope.)
Who knows you the best?: Probably my brother.

don't have a job, but my least favorite thing about being a student is tests..

10. What is your proudest accomplishment?

this will sound terrible and I'm going to tell it with back story so...

Spoiler

The school system here is divided into three schools: the first one goes to 9th grade and you can get such jobs as a super market clerk, hair dresser, carpenter, etc.. the second goes to 10th grade and you can go into things like mechanic, lab assistant, bank clerk, etc.. the third you graduate after 12/13th grade and can go to university. Well, I started out in the first one, and at our school there were two classes that let you graduate with a degree from the second one, after 10th grade, but you had to get into that class, and to get in you needed a specific grade (grades were from 1, being the best, to 6, being horrible). with a 2,3 or higher you where just accepted. with a 2,6 you could take a test though. I had a 2,6.

Well, I got to take the test in 8th grade, and I passed. (that was however not my biggest accomplishment..)

back in 7th grade I was in a different class, and I was the best in math, I was better then everyone in math, except in story problems, which I couldn't for life of me figure out, and I don't know why, because if I look back, they were so simple questions... anywho, we got a new student, and the teacher set him next to me, because he was good in math and other things, and I was good in math, and obviously lazy and for that reason was not good in many other things and I would obviously see that I was allowed to try hard in other subjects besides math as well (my teacher was douche, and an idiot, math was pretty much the only subject I didn't try my best in..). Anyway, he became my arch rival, I don't think he knew this, but he was my rival, if he liked/knew it or not..

he also got to take the test to get into the class that allows you to graduate with a higher degree, he failed though.

conclusion: I won against my arch rival

1. Who is your hero? I don't have a hero. If I really had to choose one, I would go with Joss Whedon though.

2. If you could live anywhere, where would it be? It would be where my partner is, no matter where in the world that is. I would very much enjoy Scotland though, I think.

3. What is your biggest fear? I wish I knew. I can't think of anything specific. I mean, I'm afraid of many things. I just don't know which one is the most frightening to me.

4. What is your favourite family vacation? I haven't been on a family vacation in a while. But I guess it would either be all the times we went to the mountain to practice snow boarding and skiing, or the few times we went to Venice. I just love that place.

5. What would you change about yourself if you could? Nothing, because I wouldn't be myself any more. I am working on being the best person that I can be, but that's not changing myself.

6. What really makes you angry? Many things. I'm a very angry person at heart. But I guess what angers me most are people that are unfair, close-minded, bigoted and stupid.

7. What motivates you to work hard? Passion. If I really love something, I'll put a lot of efforts into it.

8. What is your favourite thing about your career? I don't have a career yet. I'm student, and I have a job, but it's just a crappy job to pay for my future studies abroad, and pay for everything my horse needs.

10. What is your proudest accomplishment? Stepping on that train 1398 days ago, knowing that I most likely careening towards my own ruin. It took all my courage and every ounce of fight I had left in me, which was not much. And it was the best decision I have ever made.

20. What would you sing at Karaoke night? I wouldn't.

23. If you could hire someone to help you, would it be with cleaning, cooking, or yard work? Cooking. I hate cooking, but I love eating good food.

.
29. Would you rather vacation in Hawaii or Alaska, and why? Alaska all the way. Love the cold and snow, hate the heat.

30. Would you rather win the lottery or work at the perfect job? And why? Work at the perfect job. I don't believe money brings happiness. It certainly helps, but I'd rather be poor and working a job I love, than being rich and miserable at my work place (or not working at all).

31. Who would you want to be stranded with on a deserted island? My partner.

32. If money was no object, what would you do all day? Spend all my time with all the horses I would have bought and bred.

45. What's your favourite zoo animal? I don't go to the zoo.

46. If you could go back in time to change one thing, what would it be? I wouldn't change a single thing. The Doctor has taught me better then that. More seriously, I really wouldn't. I wouldn't take the chance to change anything, because it could lead me to not meeting some of the most important people in my life.

55. What's the most daring thing you've ever done? Save my fellow co-workers from a snake that was over three feet long. Spend two hours in a canal with a terrified horse that had fallen in it, even though the water was freezing, the water level so high and the current so strong that I could barely stand on my two feet. Ride my horse bareback, with no bridle, no halter, nothing, just the two of us, in a gigantic riding ring, even though he's a bit lunatic. Jump on a horse, and ride her bareback with just a halter, and chased full speed another horse that had escaped to keep him from reaching a very dangerous road where he would have surely been hit by a car or a truck. Take your pick.

My best friend was in the grade above me but in French I when I was in French III. I used to spend my lunch break sitting in and retaking French I. I once took an exam in her place while she was sick - signed her name and everything. Our French teacher let me because she knew it'd be a perfect score whether it was me or her taking it. It was funny. My 8th grade history teacher was awesome. She wasn't afraid to talk about marriage equality or her love of Ronald Reagan with 14 year olds at the time, she taught pop culture, played games, made real history fun... Sure, why not.

  • Who is your hero? Simple, my mom. Sure, she's no decorated war hero or anything, but she raised me. That's gotta count for something
  • If you could live anywhere, where would it be? I don't really care where I live too much as long as it has electricity and internet, isn't too hot, and isn't noisy.
  • What is your biggest fear? Generally speaking, heights. Specifically speaking, something bad happening to my mom to the point where I'll have to fend for myself. I don't know how to fend for myself :<
  • What is your favorite family vacation? There's only been one vacation in my life that I've enjoyed, and that would be when I went to meet my partner in Quebec last summer. My mom went along too, and she's pretty much the only significant member of my family, so that may as well count as a family vacation to me.
  • What would you change about yourself if you could? I don't want to be a professional bum anymore, but I don't know how to best go about changing that
  • What really makes you angry? Dishonesty

  • What is your favorite thing about your career? What career?

  • What did you want to be when you were young? I didn't really know then, and still don't. The best I can get is just ideas in my head, but they're really just grasping at straws out of a desperation to have *some* sort of calling, even if I end up deciding that it's unreasonable to attain
  • What does your child want to be when he/she grows up? Hopefully, someone that actually exists

Mr. Quickhands

My partner replied, and some of these questions sound fun. Why not!

1. Who is your hero? My late grandpa -- I try my hardest to draw influence from him, by far.

2. If you could live anywhere, where would it be? I would probably be very happy in Ireland, but the Pacific Northwest of the US would also make me very happy.

3. What is your biggest fear? This is very theoretical, but probably the vague combination of immobilization and suffocation.

4. What is your favourite family vacation? Trento, Italy, when I was 10

5. What would you change about yourself if you could? Nothing, personality-wise. I am me. I'm already pretty fast, but it wouldn't hurt to be faster! However, I'm already always making that change the hard way almost every day, anyways.

6. What really makes you angry? Anger isn't my strongest emotion at all, but it certainly frustrates me when people give up. To me, failure isn't failure until someone gives up. I can also feel angry for other people, if that makes sense.

7. What motivates you to work hard? Passion, identity, example, ideals that come with an athletic mindset, the past, anything making me feel discontent, sometimes maybe a dash of cultural Catholic guilt -- a whole number of things.

8. What is your favourite thing about your career? For physics as a whole -- insight into the universe and broad application. For specifically nuclear physics -- its very down-to-earth community; sometimes physicists can be a tad pretentious. For fencing -- so many things, I'd have to say the general personalization that gets expressed with the unlimited options the sport has.

9. What is your biggest complaint about your job? In academics in general -- the petty battles.

10. What is your proudest accomplishment? Becoming as athletic as I am now.

11. What is your child's proudest accomplishment? I don't have kids.

12. What is your favourite book to read? I don't often reread things. I'd say anything with adventure and action and romance, but I also very much like Foundation, which is rather dry.

13. What makes you laugh the most? People who aren't in on the joke.

14. What was the last movie you went to? What did you think? Star Wars 7. And, "STAR WARS 7!"

15. What did you want to be when you were young? I wanted to be mayor in kindergarten for some deluded reason. Then I wanted to be a mathematician. Then I wanted to engineer robots, and then I realized my academic interests were not very applied and I wanted to be a mathematician again, and then I realized that being a mathematician is a dark existence and I wanted to be a physicist. And competitive fencer. And here I am.

16. What does your child want to be when he/she grows up? I don't have kids.

17. If you could choose to do anything for a day, what would it be? 24 hours in a space station, in zero gravity, orbiting something pretty. I'd bring my partner of course. Who can say they've cuddled in zero gravity?

18. What is your favourite game or sport to watch and play? Guess

19. Would you rather ride a bike, ride a horse, or drive a car? Car

20. What would you sing at Karaoke night? Nothing, maybe a drinking song. It's a Long Way to Tipperary or Óró sé do bheatha 'bhaile if someone could teach that one to me.

21. What two radio stations do you listen to in the car the most? I don't normally listen to the radio; I do like a lot of electronic music but dislike a very large amount of other electronic music, so I never listen to electronic stations. So, if I'm stuck with radio: classical or jazz are probably the most listened, or maybe 90s rock.

22. Which would you rather do: wash dishes, mow the lawn, clean the bathroom, or vacuum the house? Wash the dishes. Grass makes my skin itch, bathroom cleaning requires too much prep, vacuums are loud. Also I like to eat, and clean dishes facilitate that.

23. If you could hire someone to help you, would it be with cleaning, cooking, or yard work? Cleaning. I can cook just fine, and I don't like working outdoors for most things.

24. If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be? Salmon, wild peas, and blueberries.

25. Who is your favourite author? Tolkien. I love scifi, and I would otherwise say Asimov, but there is only one proper answer to this question.

26. Have you ever had a nickname? What is it? Aside from various online handles? Not very consistently. My friends sometimes call me "stabbyfriend", I have some distant cousins who called me "batman" because when I first met them I was a toddler and I wore a batman costume while insisting that I was, in fact, batman. When I was really really young, my parents called me "the stealth baby" because if there was a trail nearby, I would disappear down it without making a sound.

27. Do you like or dislike surprises? Why or why not? Depends; if it's a friendly one that it might be heartwarming but I wouldn't be overwhelmingly excited about it or something (yay delayed reaction). If it's a scary surprise -- bring it on!

28. In the evening, would you rather play a game, visit a relative, watch a movie, or read? If training for fencing counts as a game -- on the other hand, do you think this is a game http://i.imgur.com/SOW0Lcd.jpg ???

.
29. Would you rather vacation in Hawaii or Alaska, and why? Alaska. I like the random rain in Hawaii, but I don't think I could do the humidity part so permanently.

30. Would you rather win the lottery or work at the perfect job? And why? Perfect job. I'm not very sentimental for "things"

31. Who would you want to be stranded with on a deserted island? My partner.

32. If money was no object, what would you do all day? Fence fence fence, travel, get coached at an intensive athletic center, compete, fence some more until I drop. Help friends and family. Donate to science. Pursue more education.

33. If you could go back in time, what year would you travel to? Far enough back to find dinosaurs. Worth getting eaten. That, or go to medieval Europe and blow their minds with tricks until I get burned as a sorcerer -- but not until after I check out what historic European fencing actually looked like, so much of that has been lost and it is a huge historical curiosity.

34. How would your friends describe you? Quiet but energetic; responsible but mischievous; introverted but sociable

35. What are your hobbies? Fencing, physics, computer games (though I hardly have the time for that unfortunately), walking/exploring, learning history

36. What is the best gift you have been given? I'm not very sentimental. Life?

37. What is the worst gift you have received? My sister tried to give me a pair of pants that were her style but not my style.

38. Aside from necessities, what one thing could you not go a day without? Nothing. If I had the necessities, I'd figure something out.

39. List two pet peeves. People who give up, people who try to rank EVE as a space sim

40. Where do you see yourself in five years? Physics grad school some place cloudy, top 8 in Div 1

41. How many pairs of shoes do you own? 3, a pair for fencing, a pair for walking/running, and some 20 dollar "dress shoes" that are buried somewhere (I rarely dress above "casual nice")

42. If you were a super-hero, what powers would you have? Phasing through walls, stealth

43. What would you do if you won the lottery? Travel to France to visit my partner, buy an okay car, save some for fencing/food/general living expenses, invest the rest in case of a family emergency. Donate some, perhaps. Too much excess money would confuse me and I would try to live simply on principle.

44.What form of public transportation do you prefer? Public transportation? Hmmmm... theoretically, a bullet train.

45. What's your favourite zoo animal? One of the big cats. It just amuses me how much they are just like very large house cats.

46. If you could go back in time to change one thing, what would it be? Not a thing, my life is what it is, I wouldn't change the good things, and the bad things are an inseparable part of my identity. Wait -- no -- there is one thing. I'd go back and make sure LucasArts made Jedi Knight IV instead of The Force Unleashed.

47. If you could share a meal with any 4 individuals, living or dead, who would they be? Oppenheimer, Aldo Nadi, Maxwell, and regardless of whether or not you're religious I think you gotta say Jesus on this one, just to see what all the hoopla was about.

48. How many pillows do you sleep with? One firm pillow

49. What's the longest you've gone without sleep (and why)? About 72 hours, but I probably dozed off. Working on stuff to graduate on time from high school.

50. What's the tallest building you've been to the top in? Not sure. Top of -- as in the roof? Probably one of the halls on my campus. Top floor? Probably the library on my campus. I've been in taller buildings, but not on the top floor.

51. Would you rather trade intelligence for looks or looks for intelligence? Intelligence. But I probably wouldn't trade physical fitness, so please, just fuck up my face and hair. Ehh -- you could gimp the left arm as well, I don't really need that. You could also make my skin all dangly and wrinkly and otherwise flawed so long as weight/drag/volume isn't being added.

52. How often do you buy clothes? Approximately once a year

53. Have you ever had a secret admirer? That wouldn't make them very secret if I knew, would it? I don't think I ever got some kind of old-fashioned secret admirer letter if that's what you mean. If I try very hard to remember, it might have happened once in elementary school, but I believed in cooties at the time.

54. What's your favourite holiday? Halloween

55. What's the most daring thing you've ever done? Inadvertently? Call a professor an asshole out-loud before dropping his class. Aside from that, can't remember one specific incident that was more daring than the rest. I'd lean towards various instances of confiding deep feelings, facing truths, or just exploring dangerous places without supervision as a young kid.

56. What was the last thing you recorded on TV? I don't really watch TV, I don't remember, maybe a showing of on my Das Boot parents' TV

57. What was the last book you read? Griffiths

58. What's your favourite type of foreign food? Sushi, but there's not enough of it

59. Are you a clean or messy person? Clean, if it's necessary or if it's someone else's space. Messy, if it's not necessary and it's my own space.

60. Who would you want to play you in a movie of your life? A toddler with limited vocabulary and difficulty constructing sentences, but the movie would maintain a very serious tone and none of the other actors would acknowledge any of "my" toddler-associated traits even during action or serious dialogue sequences. If there's got to be a movie of me, may as well make it amusing rather than simply pretentious.

61. How long does it take you to get ready in the morning? Anywhere from a few seconds to roll out of bed, to an hour of lazing around. Depends on the time constraints.

62. What kitchen appliance do you use every day? Fridge, stove, sink

63. What's your favourite fast food chain? In-N-Out

64. What's your favourite family recipe? We don't really have notable family recipes.

67. What is your favourite childhood memory? Saturday morning cartoons with cereal the morning after a sleepover with my friend in Seattle

68. What's your favourite movie? Empire Strikes Back

69. How old were you when you learned Santa wasn't real? How did you find out? Can't remember. Pretty early, but I denied it to keep it fun

70. Is your glass half full or half empty? I have a tendency to be an optimist purely out of reaction to the pessimists in my life

71. What's the craziest thing you’ve done in the name of love? For physics -- all-nighters, painful derivations, general willingness to be in a field that does nothing but break proud students. For fencing -- breaking and entering into a gym at 4am just to practice footwork, running at similarly early hours in a desert at over 7000 ft even though I hate running, showing up to practice directly after traveling from a 2-day tournament on the other side of the country; lots of things.

72. What three items would you take with you on a deserted island? Yup, have to defer to the practical idea: a satellite phone with a charged battery, a water-filtration system, and a knife.

73. What was your favourite subject in school? Math

74. What's the most unusual thing you've ever eaten? Raw pasta (as far as things people generally don't eat as a meal) or liver dumpling soup (which I should say is delicious)

75. Do you collect anything? No

76. Is there anything you wished would come back into fashion? Dress swords

77. Are you an introvert or an extrovert? Textbook super introverted, but I like people

78. Which of the five senses would you say is your strongest? I don't have good distance vision, but I have very good spatial sense and ability to notice things visually. Sight.

79. Have you ever had a surprise party? (that was an actual surprise) Not for myself, but for a friend.

80. Are you related or distantly related to anyone famous? I'm a direct male descendant of Samuel Fuller: ship doctor, spiritual leader, and one of the key organizers of the Mayflower's voyage. My branch of the family has long since systematically married with fiery Irish Catholic women and been disowned from the crazy Protestant side. Kept the name, though.

81. What do you do to keep fit? Fencing and all the fitness associated with training for it.

82. Does your family have a “motto” – spoken or unspoken ? Eh, I'm sure you you could find something in the family history, but it's probably closest to something like "sacrifice your life and sanity to science".

83. If you were ruler of your own country what would be the first law you would introduce? Assuming all other standard westernized country laws are in place (preferably some kind of framework in place to transition to a secular democratic socialist government), I would introduce a law granting equal rights to anything deemed to be a true artificial intelligence by an impartial board of scientists. Just in case the robot uprising happens, there is a small chance that mine will be the only nation spared.

84. Who was your favourite teacher in school and why? The applied math post-doc who I took my first college calculus class from; after doing well in his class, I volunteered to work on a programming project with him, and he was excited to meet with me and teach me a lot of very useful things. He was also just generally very friendly and a cool guy.

85. What three things do you think of the most each day? Fencing, physics, the important people in my life.

86. If you had a warning label, what would yours say? Warning: must be left alone to recharge

87. What song would you say best sums you up? Danse Macabre feels like it would be a fitting little theme for some reason

88. What celebrity would you like to meet at Starbucks for a cup of coffee? Tom Waits

89. Who was your first crush? An Australian girl in my literature class in the sixth grade who really liked writing. Too focused on other problems to do anything about it, though. I guess if I ever had a "type", it's writers, haha.

90. What's the most interesting thing you can see out of your office or kitchen window? The sky -- there are beautiful sunsets where I live.

91. On a scale of 1-10 how funny would you say you are? That seems a little subjective, doesn't it? In my head, at least, I'm always a 10, but that's because it's entirely my own humor by definition.

92. Where do you see yourself in 10 years? Physics PhD, US Worlds team. It's unnatural to think that far ahead in time at once, though. One step at a time haha.

93. What was your first job? Summer student nuclear physics research at a national lab.

94. If you could join any past or current music group which would you want to join? Not sure

95. How many languages do you speak? One, English. I know a little Spanish and I'm relearning my French.

96. What is your favourite family holiday tradition? See above: Christmas eve

97. Who is the most intelligent person you know? My grandfather was the most intelligent person I knew. Sure, he wasn't a physicist, but he had general knowledge and wisdom that just went deeper than anyone I ever knew.

98. If you had to describe yourself as an animal, which one would it be? Raven or a cat. Curiosity and a little mischief with a large amount of individualism.

99. What is one thing you will never do again? "Leave a homework assignment to the last seconds" (I say whenever I leave a homework assignment to the last second)

100. Who knows you the best? This is a hard question, because I've gradually changed a lot over recent years and that throws off even the closest people. So my safest answer would actually probably be my teammate. Not because he knows specific details about me, but because he doesn't. He's actually very different from me and can't really relate to me on much, but that means that his knowledge about me is purely impressionistic.
