WinterWanderer
So... if I can write 10,000 words before midnight (which is 30 minutes away), I'll have caught up to where I need to be so far. Let's just say that I don't think I'm winning this month, haha.
yuuen
:U Better to write something than nothing at all! I have a little under 10k to go to meet my goal. Today's my Friday night so I'm going to just chill and not push too hard on writing tonight. c:
Larkaloke
I was doing really well, and then life got in the way this week. I'm hoping to feel up to writing again tonight or tomorrow, but I'm going to have to write at a pretty clippy speed by that time to make it, I think. Ah well -- I'm not actually sure at this point that I have 19,000 words left to write anyhow, so I'm not sure what I'll do if that turns out to be the case (I was finishing up a novel that I didn't manage to finish in November, and just chose 50,000 as the goal because I had no idea how much wordcount I had left). coyearth
Gah, this month has been so incredibly busy. D: I've written so little right now, and to be honest I'm not sure how much I wrote on some of the days. So unfortunately, I probably will stop for this month. There's always July though~. WinterWanderer
Yeah... I have 21k words and there's no way I can write 29k more in just the next few days. Sigh. Hopefully July will be better :)
Feliz
I'm sad that I never did get to continue, still at the same word count, but it was mostly because a Wattpad short-story contest backed by Target popped up this month, and the publication prize is too huge to ignore. It's a shame, because 25K isn't a large goal to complete for me, but now, I just won't make it by the 30th. I tried. I really did. Here's hoping for July. Good luck to everyone else. I hope at least one person on here makes the goal. :)
Larkaloke
Looks like I'm not going to officially finish this year, since there didn't turn out to be that much left on what I was writing. Still, I'm counting it as a personal win, since I did finish the novel draft -- it just took less words than I was thinking it would.
Choloepus
I started Camp this year, but had to stop due to school. Still, very positive experience, and I think I'll continue my novel this summer. xD My username's the same if anyone's wondering.
WinterWanderer
Anyone want to be in some kind of penpal writing group? Maybe a Skype group? To keep each other on track with our writing before the next Camp session. I don't know about y'all, but it really helps me to have a support group to keep me going :) And we can share writing tips, jokes, etc. Or is there already something like this at AVEN? DustyBooks
This was my first try on Camp NaNo and I'm surprised I reached my 20k goal. It was fun so I think I got motivation to try once again that 50k on NaNoWriMo on November. If you're about to create some writing group I'd be interested in joining too :) I'm Night Eagle on NaNo site, btw :)
Feliz
I like the idea of fiorya's group and wouldn't mind joining one, but I don't do video chat because I don't feel comfortable with it. Sorry. :( Nevertheless, I hope your new group is a success. :) As far as continuing the same stories on to other NaNo months, I thought that was against the rules? Well, not written rules, but unwritten ones, in that you're encouraged to start anew and fresh each NaNo month to avoid "cheating." Or has that changed? Sorry, I'm not too familiar with NaNo other than completing my first one last November, so pardon my lack of knowledge.

Sorry, I'm not too familiar with NaNo other than completing my first one last November, so pardon my lack of knowledge. It doesn't have to be on Skype :) I'll figure out a platform that would work best. I think you can keep doing the same project, as long as you don't count the previous words you've written into your current word count. You can only include the words you write from the first day of the month to the last day of the month, nothing written before that. I think?
coyearth
I'd love to join a writing group, so please keep me updated. :3 Also, congratulations to everyone who participated this time around, whether you reached your goal or not! ^_^
Feliz
fiorya: That sounds about right. It makes perfect sense. And, yeah, keep us updated about the group. :)
WinterWanderer
So far, I think Skype would be the best app to use. We could use the chat function, not the video chat. But we could also create a private Facebook group or a community in Google Plus. What do y'all think? EDIT: I made a chat group for us at Chatzy (http://www.chatzy.com/66250691963941). Try it out and let me know if you like it, or if you'd rather do Skype, Facebook, Google Plus, etc.
yuuen
Haven't been around because I was writing, but I made my goal of 25k! But damn it, I still haven't finished my novel. I'm at 76,000 words now after adding onto November's 51k win. As I'm already part of Facebook writing groups, I much prefer Facebook for anything like that. It's easy to use and pretty much everyone has Facebook, so there's nothing to really register for.
KendraPM
I just tried nanowrimo this April! I reached my goal of 30,000 words. Getting ready for July camp now. :)
binary suns
I created a NaNoWriMo account, but this is my first time doing this so I have no idea what to do. I'm gonna look more into it tomorrow I guess....
Lhin
What does nanowrimo tries about? It sounds interesting
WinterWanderer
What does nanowrimo tries about? It sounds interesting It's short for national novel writing month. Nanowrimo is usually done in November. You try to write a 50,000 word novel in just one month. During the summer, there's also Camp Nanowrimo, which is a more laid-back version. The next session starts July 1st. You can pick whatever word count you want, and try to reach your goal by the end of the month.
Lhin
:O!!! I want to try it!! I love short novels
coyearth
:o!!! I want to try it!! I love short novels Here's the link. :) https://campnanowrimo.org/sign_in When you sign up, you can write by yourself or join a camp so you can have a group to talk to. There's sometimes an ace group that people start up. If there's an ace group already, I'd love to join! My username is coy_earth. ^_^
Barry
Who all has signed up? I've never done one of these before so I set my word count relatively low - 10000. Even that may be too much for me considering I'll be missing a week and two days because of a summer camp and besides the main character's name I have no idea for the plot yet. Oh well! This is supposed to be about challenging yourself, right? =D
WinterWanderer
I'm doing 20,000 this month, which is usually about how much I can manage. This month will be crazy busy, but I'm hoping i can reach my goal :)
Varadis
I joined. I haven't done this before although I have wanted to for a few years. I finally have time this summer!
Barry
I decided that trying to write out a serious story with no idea of plot or the like would probably be a bad idea, so instead I'm taking the ridiculous approach and writing a Dr. Seuss-esque tale of a crime fighting pickle who works for the circus. I originally thought of this story when I was eight, and it's stuck with me since then, so I might as well try to use it for something productive. (Yes, it's going to be just as ridiculous as it sounds)
SpacePrincess
I'm working on finishing my novel for this months CampNanowrimo so I really am only looking for maybe 10,000 words and whatever I make in editing.
WinterWanderer
Oops, completely forgot about Camp until today. Now I have to catch up xD
WinterWanderer
8 days left and I have written... 447 words out of 20,000. Only need to write about 2,500 words a day to win xD
coyearth
(This is a little late but) great job to everyone who participated! Congrats to those who reached your goals and to those who didn't! Personally, I was only 500 words away from reaching my goal x3
