BBC FILM ABOUT ASEXUALITY

Hey guys,

Please check out this short film I made for the BBC called 'A-SEXY' exploring asexuality or what I like to call 'the forgotten sexual orientation'.

I'm sure most of you would agree that more information needs to be out there for asexual people and we all need to spread the word as much as possible. - I hope I can do that in the medium of social media and short films.

Please, if you like the film and believe it is a good representation, then share it as much as you can! I would really appreciate it.

Well done, for a 5-minute-film it summarised the main sentiment nicely for people who don't know about. Shared it.

I just wonder...are you the moderator ? Anyway, I love love love the accent ! Sorry, English linguistics major here.

That was amazing. I loved it. Especially how there are probably all sorts of people out there who are asexual and they don't know it. I didn't know it. It's not until I figured it out that I realized that not only was I asexual, but I've made a point to surround myself with asexual friends. Most of us didn't even know that was a thing. But we all found each other somehow. Everything those two said was just perfect.

Hi India

Informative presentation.

I only discovered Asexuality recently.

This was in a Daily Mail newspaper article. I never knew of such a thing. For many years I struggled to deal with the way I am.

I knew i wasn't gay, had relationships with sexual females but could not find sexual attraction. Then reading many articles on here and chatting to other members I reliesed I'm far from alone.

There are many of us still hiding out there. Many not even knowing that there are others like them.

I remember 30 years ago being Gay was very tabboo and hated. Now the movement is very strong and accepted more. There was no internet then to spread the word so to speak.

We are now able to connect more easily throughout the world.

Very nice! Not only was the content good, but I really enjoyed the editing and cinematography, too. ^_^

Hiya India, thanks for spreading the word of asexuality. I have shared it on my www.facebook.com/acexualise page

I though it was great you gave asexuals a voice, and I think there are more people who are asexual around the world. My mission is to also spread the word of asexuality - around the globe, and get it recognised as a sexual orientation in it's own right throughout the world, so that no asexual ever had to live in fear ever again, but they can live happily among sexuals and not be ridiculed.

I have to say that being a hyper heteroromantic, my definition is different. Because I do fancy a lot of guys, just not in a sexual way.

I am being filmed in a short asexual student documentary - that will be on YouTube.

Thanks so much for sharing! I am still learning a lot about asexuality and I'm sorry if my terminology offended anyone! There is such a broad spectrum when it comes to any form of sexuality - I think that is what makes it so interesting!

Anyway, I just hope asexuality can be more widely talked about - I'm certain there are asexual people out there who just have no idea there is a word for what they are feeling/how they are etc.

I'm glad the media can be an outlet for discovery and I hope that my film can do for others what the Daily Mail has for you! There is definitely better acceptance for 'different' people - we just need a whole lot more of it :)

The internet is a fabulous place for bringing people together, I think!
