I'm gonna have to watch loads of them again to make up my mind... But I absolutely loved Tale of Princess Kaguya.

Spirited away and princess Mononoke are tied at number 1.

The cat returns come in at second place.

Then grave of the fireflies comes in at third for me!

Princess Mononoke, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, and Porco Rosso are my absolute favourites, but I love all Ghibli films. I voted for Princess Mononoke though because even though I really love the other two movies, it would have to be my 1#.

Spirited Away (first Ghibli film that I saw), then Princess Mononoke.

This is really tricky.

Is this some kind of troll poll?

Let's see, I would divide them into two categories, Ghibli in general and Miyazaki movies.

Picking a favourite Ghibli is hard.

When Marnie Was There touched me on a personal level though, I could identify on so many levels with the protagonist… Then again Kaguya was excellent too. It was a totally different drawing style and the dynamic feel of the run-away scene such as the emotions and dilemma in the movie were fantastic! I think maybe I'll pick Marnie as a favourite "generally Ghibli" for the personal value and importance.

But if I had to take favourite Miyazaki into account, that makes the choice harder. Maybe Laputa/Castle in the Sky? The choice could be biased because that's the last one I have rewatched a couple of days ago, a timeless movie. Could as well take Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, Totoro, Porco Rosso, The Wind Rises or any other to be honest. All of them are good, really. I haven't seen Kiki's Delivery Service in ages, but I got it for Christmas. Might be worth a rewatch, maybe I'll pick that one? Argh, really, I don't know.

Despite the depressing mood, I also enjoyed Grave of the Fireflies. The message and emotions were really strong.

I'll just pick other (Marnie isn't listed anyway). However, artistically, I consider them all equally good, it's impossible to pick just one.

I'm a bit biased on Princess Mononoke and then Spirited Away. I need to catch up on the more recent ones.

I voted Howl's Moving Castle, but I also absolutely adore Spirited Away and as a child I loved Kiki's Delivery Service.
