Confused-about-everything

I'm confused about all the different categories of asexuality and which one I fit in. I don't mind talking about sex and other people having it and I find some people attractive but I have no desire to have sex with them. I find people of all genders attractive and enjoy shipping with different fandoms but I don't like the thought of having sex myself and never imagine myself having sex with anyone. I like the idea of a relationship but do not picture myself in one and find the idea of being in one unattractive. I've heard other people dreaming of relationships but I don't find the idea that good for myself and I never imagine myself in a sexual position with anyone like other people I'm around seem to. I've been looking over the different categories of asexuality as it seems the closest but I'm still unsure about what my sexuality is. I know it is unlikely for anyone to be able to define a person's sexuality when they can't but does anyone have any categories I could research which sound like what I am?

I don't acknowledge most of the categories if you mean all the labels out there that describe different preferences. I define "asexuality" as "no desire for partnered sex." Basically, an "asexual" person isn't drawn towards sexual interaction with others. Beyond that, it varies from person to person, regardless of sexual orientation. If you want to learn more about asexuality, then I highly recommend this (scholarly) article. I also recommend this website.

Thank you for the websites they were very useful! What I mean by categories is that I've seen labels such as grey-asexuality and lithromantics and I can't seem to find out all of the different labels and types of both aromatics and asexuals so that I have any idea if what I personally feel is similar to another group of people. Thank you for the websites they were definitely very useful and I understand that no two people feel exactly the same but I was wondering if there were any categories of people who feel similarly and what all the types are as the websites I've seen seem to have multiple terms which overlap and which don't seem to have many differences from each other.

I'm in sort of the same boat with sex, actually. The idea sort of sounds appealing and my mind wanders to it in some cases, but as soon as there are details, or the prospect of it becoming real, I'm out. My mind won't play ball. That's why I feel that I'm somewhere on the asexual spectrum.
