Star Bit
If i recall correctly, the 1% voted for a "no desire for sex" option, so even if some cupiosexual people wrongly identify as asexual here, the 1 is at least accurate. And depending on the homosexual/bisexual results, some percentages put them at 1 or nearing 2%; so even then it sounds like the same odds.
That asexual guy
Lack of sexual attraction is the very definition of the word. Nothing more, nothing less, nothing else. But of course people have their own feelings about this identidy. No it's not. The very definition of the word is "not sexual." The A- prefix in words means not, like atypical (not typical). Star Bit
^ In addition, also remember that orientations are not literal; A/non-sexual does not exclude masturbation or sexual compromise (which are both sexual), just like heterosexuals don't desire to have sex with intersex people despite the prefix hetero meaning "different." Sexual orientations simply refer to what sex/gender someone desires to have sex with.
malacat
^ In addition, also remember that orientations are not literal; A/non-sexual does not exclude masturbation or sexual compromise (which are both sexual) You made a really good point here. I think sometimes people forget that the meanings of words can change over time and that their definitions aren't always literal.
