Jea
I usually wear jeans or sport leggings for uni, but during the weekend, I wear sweatpants...even if I go out and stuff. I don't really care what people think, I won't change my clothes to go to the supermarket...
heartfulReverie
I often forget that sweatpants even exist. I pretty much wear nothing but jeans. I've seen plenty of people at my school wear sweatpants. Pajama pants too sometimes.
DannyFenton123
Ooh, story time. My aunt absolutely flipped her shit (I promise you, the profanity is necessary to describe the situation) when I once wore sweatpants in her sight. I was on holiday, reading a book in my bedroom. She told me that it didn't matter if nobody was going to see me, I had to dress nice and pick out matching clothing. Yeah... after moving away from her, I kind of abandoned those rules big time. It's a change for the better, I tell you; sweatpants are the best! xD
Mezzo Forte
I can't say that I care if others wear sweatpants in public, but I just can't do it. I tried it once and I just felt uncomfortable and self-conscious. I think putting an outfit together is just part of my morning ritual, and keeping sweatpants on threw that off. Even when I wear jeans or dress pants, I'm still dressed for comfort, but I also dress for comfort in my appearance and sweatpants just don't satisfy that for me.
deltaX
As long as you aren't going somewhere where sweatpants would be considered against the dress code, I don't see anything wrong with wearing sweatpants in public. Honestly, if it were easier to find sweatpants in my size, I'd probably wear them a lot more often than I currently do.
marauders
I usually have to dress business casual for work, except for Fridays, where we can dress more casually (this basically means we are allowed to wear jeans and tennis shoes). On the weekends and weeknights, I usually opt for jeans because I just find them comfortable. So I own more dress pants, skirts, and jeans than I do sweatpants. I do own a few pairs of sweatpants, though...maybe six or seven pairs, I think? Most of them are in dark colors, and I think half of them are in some shade of dark blue. I usually pair them with a t-shirt and wear them to bed, because it's a super comfortable combination. On the very few occasions that I do wear them outside, it's usually for one of two reasons: 1) I'm going for a run and/or walk outside when it's cold(er), and I don't want to freeze, or, 2) I am wearing them around the house, realize I need to run down to the store real quick for something, and don't feel like changing. That being said, I have absolutely no problem with other people wearing sweatpants outside. To each their own. :) It's just not for me.
