SpiffyParadox
I've never been to a Con, sadly. I came close to going to Comic-Con one year but a certain sibling of mine forgot to buy the tickets (more like she spent the money on something else -internal rage rising-) But, I have cosplayed around my house before. Usually as my survivor persona. But, i've cosplayed Hunter from the L4D games. I also keep a growing list of whom I'd love to cosplay as ;v; Plus, I friend of mine makes armor and i've been designing armors that i'd like to wear whenever we get money to go to the Ren. Faire. Jeena
I have never gone to a con before, but a few weeks ago I dressed up as the Stay Puft Marshmallow man from Ghostbusters for Senior Night at the High School football game, and I was really happy to be the center of attention while having my identity masked. (Everyone loved my costume.) If I were to go to a con, and I really do want to go to one, I would want to dress up as a shy guy.

jack616
Sorry to hear u having a hard time :( I've had a lot of health issues this year but I'm determined to go to Cons when I can, it's good to have something to look forward to. :) the last one I went to I couldn't cosplay, I was in a lot of pain and needed help to carry my coat even, but I still wanted to go. Hope you can make it to a con some time. Cosplay isn't essential to have a good time there :) actually it's easier without tbh! No way I could have carried my huge prop recently. I hope by February i might be able to. *crosses paws*
ChillaKilla
I like doing cosplay, even though I'm extremely amateur at it. I've done some Attack on Titan (Levi, Ymir, Mikasa), One Piece (Trafalgar Law), Full Moon O Sagashite (Lio Izumi), Fullmetal Alchemist (Alphonse), and Atlantis (Princess Kida). I also own a fursuit. I love the furry fandom purely for its artistic and social facets, the sexual bit is obviously uninteresting :P

Keumi
I love cosplay! Although I'm not skilled or dedicated enough to sew my own costumes. Also, I'm staff at my con and we aren't allowed to cosplay which is saddening since I don't really have the means or funds to travel for other cons. I love being part of the staff though so sadly just something I have to give up! :(

ChillaKilla
maybe someday... :( I'm broke as the titanic Every single cosplay I've done had originated from clothing bought at nearby thrift stores, since I'm (A) cheap, and (B) incapable of sewing/ making clothes from scratch :P

GrayAce
I like to make costumes and cosplay and I find historical patterns and costume patterns easier to follow than patterns for "normal" clothes. I tried to make a shirt today and it went great until I had to make the collar. It looked nothing like the picture in the pattern packet. It was so frustrating. I have no more fabric to make another collar, but I'll just sew it together as normal. Does anyone else have issues following "normal clothes" patterns?
Velma
I have been going to cons for years, but only for the speakers, dealer hall and the games. I've been speaker at GenCon trade day for the last 7-8 years but attended who knows how many years earlier, and I do a fair amount of Indiana based cons. It's getting to the point where I've done enough that I can recognize people that I've never spoken to, but I've just stood in Will Call getting my badge and staring at the back of their head for an hour at some point. (BTW, anyone know a good way to break the ice that isn't creepy in situations..Hey! I've wandered around the dealer hall and I see you every year. we both suck at the Cheese Weasel game!) The closest I come to cosplay is when I take my daughter with me. I let her pick my outfits. Once I let her paint my face. She was four and only used pink paint, so it looked like I had a horrible rash. My outfit that day looked like a bag lady gypsy with fairy wings.I spoil my daughter. She gets so thrilled when she can dress me up for the convention days. Once I took her to a little kid larp. She came dressed up like a fairy. I talked it up for days. None of the other kids dressed up. They just grabbed a hat from a box. Maddie said the GM was too bossy because he kept telling them what to do and didn't let her just dance around, acting like a fairy and basically doing whatever she wanted. After that, I took her to a free play fort some parents set up full of pool noodle boffer swords. She LARPed the rest of the day. Poor kid. She's not even in kindergarten yet and she's a veteran con attendee. She doesn't have a chance at being normal.
Veilfire
I've never been to a proper con, but I recently did my first cosplay at a renaissance festival. I went as Vriska from Homestuck and even made my own horns! It was a blast and my costume went over really well. I'm thinking of doing another one. Word of caution though, painting your skin takes forever.
One Winged Angel
I love cons and I go to pretty much all of the big ones in the UK, apart from those held in London. I don't cosplay though.
jellibette
I went to MCM in London for the first time this year - not in cosplay exactly but I was dressed as a steampunk something. It was really, really fun. I spent a good couple hours just walking around looking at everyone's costumes.

Blaiddmelyn
I go to MCM London - usually the May one but I went to the October one last year because why not? Always seems a bit of a laugh and it's one of the few times I can be surrounded by people who share my geeky interests (my job is not known for attracting the kinds of people who enjoy video games, anime, comics etc). I go to anything in South Wales, Birmingham, Midlands, North West as these are much easier to get to on public transport for a day trip.
