chronicallytrans
I've identified as ace for a few years. I don't even know if I experience sexual attraction. I ID as ace because I'm hella sex repulsed and have like no libido because of dysphoria. I want relationships with people (of whatever gender, so I ID as bi too), but never any form of a sexual relationship. Is this asexuality or what?
Absol
A lot of people differentiate between sexual and romantic attraction, and may use different descriptors for each. For example, in your case it might be appropriate to call yourself asexual and biromantic, meaning you don't feel sexual attraction to anyone but feel romantic attraction to people of both genders. Romantic attraction and sexual attraction don't necessarily line up, so you can totally be asexual but still desire a romantic relationship. :)
deltaX
I agree with the previous post- wanting a relationship with men and women does not disqualify you from being asexual. Wanting or feeling attraction for romantic relationships is romantic attraction, and your romantic orientation may be different than your sexual orientation. I do know what you mean about not being sure whether or not you experience sexual attraction though. It's so hard to understand something that even a lot of sexual people can't fully explain. If it helps, there are some people who define asexuality as having no desire for partnered sex, which might be easier to identify with if you don't fully understand sexual attraction. Whatever you decide to identify as though, it's completely up to you! We can give you some suggestions or point you to resources that might be helpful, but the final choice is yours. I wish you the best of luck in figuring it all out! :)
