Manga with Asexual Characters

See, I think Cherry has romantic feeling for his master but not sexual. If you look at the later chapter with Rayfelle (although a smut scene) he kicks her out. Yeah, but vampires tend to be sexualized in drinking blood in general. Rayflo is very obviously sexual, and throughout the series I think that cherry is either celibate or asexual.

(yay another Vassalord reader!)

That could be true. It's been a while since i read the last chapters since I prefer the earlier ones personally, but now you made me want to reread it to check, lol. : )

I agree, the earlier ones are better, but there still is a lot of good content later it in too XD (may have read it far too many times)

I'm going to throw one of my favorite manga characters into the running: Genjo Sanzo of Saiyuki.

To be fair, the series creator deliberately shys away from pairing any of the main characters with each other, but at least two of the four have had sexual attraction/relationships in the past, so it's safe to assume their orientation on that front.

Sanzo is quite definitely a horse of a different color. He was raised in a Buddhist monastery and flung into the world to fend for himself at the age of thirteen. Arguments about homosexual relationships in Buddhist temples aside, he has never once been demonstrably shown to have any sort of sexual attraction to anyone, and is frequently seen to shove his firearm in the face of anyone, usually men, who attempts to come on to him because of his striking looks. In fact he frequently scorns the escapades of the group playboy, who enjoys teasing him mercilessly with innuendo. This is all my observation, of course, and I could be entirely wrong; but the author generally doesn't shy away from highlighting who has had past relationships with whom. But there is certainly a lot that Sanzo keeps to himself, so who knows?

He's a great character IMO, complex and interesting, and a highly likely candidate for being ace.

I'm pretty sure the main character from Nabari no Ou (The King of Nabari) is aro/ace, I don't remember his name, though.

Miharu Rokujo! :P

Also, is there anything that happens in the manga that suggests that he is aro and/or ace?

I just watched a youtube video that made me realize that Pokemon's main character Ash it's probably and very likely aromantic (I know it's not asexual, but still it's worth mentioning). The author of video theorizes and explores the reasons why Ash doesn't have a girlfriend, even though he's had plenty of female companions across the years (one even "throwing" himself at him) and still seems to not be "into" them. The possible explainations given by the author are that:

1. Ash it's perpetually 10 years old, and still at an age where there's not much interest in the oposite, or even same, sex.

2. His lack of a parental figure and couple dinamics during early childhood had made him the way he is.

Yet the probability that he might just be aromantic it's never addressed. Which I realized it's enterily possible and that it makes tons of sense, at least to me.

You could add: Komatta Toki ni wa Hoshi ni Kike! It's one of the few yoai mangas where the relationship is purely asexual. The manga really gets across how the two main characters love and depend on each other without the addition of sex.

I was think Sebastian from Black Butler is aromantic ace. I know a lot of shippers would disagree with me but while Sebastian has had sex with a character or two he says he is not interested in things like sex. Also he seems pretty oblivious when characters try to seduce him. Not canon but a possibility.
