Ace Spike, Ace Flux Type 1 & 2

Recommended Posts

I usually identify as either Ace/Aro or Grey Ace/ Grey Aro (Double Grey) , but have been occasionally researching Ace Flux because I tend to fluctuate in some way or another. I know this may not be a big game changer for me but I would like to find out more and resources are somewhat sparse. I generally understand the other three but my question is: "What are the main differences between 1. Ace Spike 2. Ace Flux Type 1 & Type 2?" -Dio

 Sorry, what? I've never heard or seen "Aceflux", much less "Aceflux Type #" before. Where did you come across these?

I've heard of Aceflux but it's only a few times. Because it can have a double meaning i can understand the type one and two thing, but I've never heard of Acespike or Vexsexual. Wait, i looked up rare in other languages before and i think it was vex. Does it mean rarely having sexual attraction?

I just typed ace flux in my search engine and I found this in an images result.

I believe I heard Ace Spike for the first time on Aven as well as Ace Flux, although I've heard Ace Flux a few more times so it is somewhat more or less a talked about thing.

http://definithing.com/vexsexual/ and ace spike is a radical change in fluctuating interest

You can find the double meaning of Aceflux if you google it. But here. I don't know which ones are 1 and 2 but aceflux is either when you stay on the asexual spectrum but your perspective on sex or sexual compromise uninfluencively changes; indifferent, negative, positive, OR when you fluctuate between the asexual and Gray-A spectrum; one day demi, etc.

And there's already been a word for what Vexsexual means for a long time; it's called WTFsexial aka Quoisexual.

Thanks guys, but I don't want to lose my topic question about Ace Flux type 1 & 2 plus Ace Spike's main characteristics, differences and definition. I know that these things don't serve well to explain yourself to others but neither does asexuality. This is just for further research about the self and understanding asexuality which all of us Ace's experienced before there was a label for it. This is for the self, much like the black ring. Thank you, we need as many opinions as we can about this little discussed topic and how Asexuality often entwines with fluctuating thoughts and/or behavior.

Why're you talking about losing your original question? I answered part of it. Unless you meant what's the difference between either forms of Aceflux and Acespike. Then Acespike just seems to be a more specific type of Aceflux.

Besides, I'm not sure vex is a proper alternative for Quoisexual anyways; vex means to cause annoyance and someone who can't tell what sexual attraction is won't necessarily be frustrated. So Quoi catches them all with just saying that it's unclear.

Wow, I experience a little of both, but mainly staying in the grace/spades area and my perspective changing by the minute in a sudden "spike" or by the day in "fluctuations" I think it best describes the mystery of asexuality on a physical level in the way that we have to come up with vocabulary on the fly to communicate. I personally relate to all the posts I read about the hot summer weather causing changes in drive and how that feels for an asexual, for me it can be somewhat muted. I could have a spree of attraction without libido, a ten minute attraction with libido, experiencing an in love feeling for as much as a week and hating it because I'm not being pulled in with an impairment like every one else, but instead a sober clear thinking in love that is similar the anti-depressant that makes you smile on the outside while wanting to die on the inside. I usually can't wait for that feeling to end. I've also noticed a change in my ace traits as the years go by. Is there some kind of psychological difference to people who don't desire sex as much as everyone else? Anyways, yeah I've dated, but I've never initiated it. I see sex drive as something we are spun onto the Earth with (much like hunger, thirst, breathing) I feel our procreating holds nothing personal to us as a species it just has us like gravity and all of the other cyberkinetic metal & minerals of the earth fused into us. Us Aces just lose an electrical charge and fly sometimes, even if we're not supposed to.

We answered at different times. No bad. I was just wanting to keep on track and maybe the way other people OP topics rubbed off on me and I was rude, I'm sorry :(

If you experience romantic attraction without a pull to act on it then that's fine. There are two things; romantic/sexual/sensual attraction and the pull to act on it. Romantically that would be a romantic-drive. Some people have an indifferent romantic-drive. But if you don't want a romantic relationship despite the emotion then that's aromantic. I'm not sure of the brain part to it, but sex-drive just differes from person to person.

The picture doesn't mean "types 1and 2", it's for an Etsy store, so you can pick one of the two aceflux flags by asking for "aceflux 1" or "aceflux 2". Both flags represent the same exact thing, though differentiating could help some.

Aceflux type 1 could be moving between ace and allo, and type 2 could be having changes in perspectives on sex. It could be the same for aroflux (and I could be aroflux type 1!)

I understand you people want others to understand how you feel in a relationship, but these things are highly subjective and there could be millions of names and combinations for each person, so why complicate the things? I personally believe there are 3 main types of asexuality, that being the traditional Asexuality, gray-A and Demisexuality. I'm not trying to be rude, I just don't understand why do you need to have so many terms? It's just confusing people. You could use a simple term like "Asexual" and explain people what you like and what you don't. That's what you end up doing with complicated terms too, since not many people understand them. Keep it simple. :)

I wasn't saying I have any problems with you labeling yourself with all kind of names, I'm just saying that we're lucky if people have heard about asexuality and know what that means, and we shouldn't all of a sudden expect them to learn 50+ new terms. Sure, these things are helpful in the asexual community and for those who are interested, I was just saying that in the mainstream media it's better to keep it simple.

This, all the way.
