Errr... Hi?

Hi everyone! *waves*

I'm not really good with introductions, but here goes...

Back when I was in high school, yes, I like a few guys but not to a point where I felt I needed to act out that attraction sexually. Having studied in a Catholic school during my growing up years, I really did not notice my asexuality and there was no pressure on having sex or anything because again I'm in a Catholic school.

Moving on to college, I decided to go against the current and studied at a school that's different from the previous. People around me were dating and/or in a relationship. I really don't get it at that time because people just change partners like it's just changing their brand of cereals. I began to question myself like is there like a manual that I missed to read? Not that I want to be in a relationship, but I knew there's something that I can't exactly point my finger on.

Two years ago, I met this guy. I liked him and he liked me. I wanted to be with him, but I dreaded the idea of sex. Sex for me is unnecessary. So, I thought maybe I'm just different from everyone else. I was fine with it. And until recently, I saw this documentary entitled (A)Sexuality.

It's like I found a treasure! IT MADE ME HAPPY LIKE FINALLY I BELONG!

So here I am now: 25, cave-dweller, blogger, and asexual.

Thanks for reading,

Cee

Heya Cee! Welcome to AVEN! :D :cake:

"Sex for me is unnecessary." You took the words right out of my mouth!

Yeah, it's amazing how casually people treat sex sometimes. I'm kind of lucky I managed to avoid being in relationships until this point, because until a few years ago, I thought everyone else was like me, but sex-crazy. Nope, turns out sex is 'important'...

Welcome again! More cake! :D :cake:

Hey, welcome to AVEN. Where I for one would like if they wrote a manual on that stuff that made everything make sense.

Society today considers sex as "important". People can just hook up with whoever and they do it effortlessly like it's next to breathing.

AND I'M like I want cake. lol :D

The thing is, if we pick up the wrong manual, then it's pretty traumatizing.

That documentary was indeed helpful. I even saw people on Youtube sharing their asexual stories. It just makes me so happy. I do hope more people will be aware of asexuality. Thank you for all your warm welcome. :)
