My ring arrived...and I don't like it. :( The ring itself is fine, but I didn't order a big enough size for my middle finger--I have a big knuckle-to-finger ratio, it turns out, and in order to get it over my large knuckles, it then swims on the finger. And I've been trying it out on my ring finger (where I can get it over my knuckle) but it's annoying me because there is the same problem with it being too big around the finger. So now I have to send it back--what a pain. (I decided I don't want to just wear it on a necklace, after all.) I thought of getting a silicone ring since they are stretchy and might work (I could possibly get away with getting a bit smaller size), but the width is just too big for me--the narrowest I can find is 5 mm and that's just too obtrusive for me. So now I have to send the ring back. A pain! And I am disappointed....

Aww...that's a shame, teatree. Perhaps, you could slip a ring sizer in once it's past the knuckle?

Ha Ha swingers!! I never think of anything clever on the spot. It always comes to me later when it's too late. Instead I just stand there drooling with a dazed and confused expression.

@teatree: I've seen crochet rings and they're flexible. You can get something custom from a place like etsy.com (any color and/or width). They even have wire ones, that might give enough flex too. Even beaded ones and you can customize it with black beads. Might not be your style though? I saw that someone made a post and they used tiny back hairbands around their finger. Or you can get one tattooed - that would rock! :P

Hmmm, I don't think the ring sizer thing would work well with this ring, as the band was pretty narrow. But I do like Faraday's suggestion of a beaded ring--if it had some stretch to it, that could be the answer. I will look on Etsy tonight. Thanks, guys!

5mm is too wide? That doesn't seem very big to me...

A very close friend of mine recently bought a wonderful ace ring for me. It's black with a small silver heart in the middle and a silver ECG (electrocardiogram) line all the way around. I love it very much! I've only just started wearing it the past week so no one has asked me about it yet.

I love wearing my ring, and I don't feel properly dressed if I forget to put it back on after washing up.. I've had it for several years. It's stainless steel, but the blackness is gradually wearing off around the edge. I need to start looking out for another one. I'd like to get one that is a bit more noticeable, although still ACE

I wear mine most of the time. No one has asked me about it save what is it made of. Someone thought it was an engagement ring, odd since it is a black onyx band not on the ring finger and the wrong hand. I couldn't be bothered explaining more than no it wasn't and they didn't question further. No one has asked me what it was for. *shrugs* Have been wearing mine for nearly 5 months.

I don't wear mine often. I need plenty of soap for it to fit over my knuckle!

I wore it on a night out and one of my friends said "what's that?!!!" "An engagement ring" I said "no, just a ring I had." :)

I have seen them advertised as wedding rings though.

I ordered a couple of beaded rings from Etsy, and they both arrived today! The one I thought I was really going to like is okay--but just okay. It's "too black," if that makes sense! (It feels too stark/severe on my pale fingers....) It's on memory wire and has three wraps of the ring that show.

The second one I ordered is actually three beaded rings that are meant to be worn together, but I like wearing only one band. It's a combination of mostly black beads, two dark purple ones, and two dark silver fancier beads--I think I covered the AVEN colors! Anyway, I like it--it's a titch too loose but I'm just wearing it for a while to see how it goes, since I'm not used to wearing a ring at all.

Thanks to Faraday for the great suggestion to try beaded!

Stealthy Potato

I bought one ring and suddenly had the urge to buy a few more...black fashion rings, a few with stones....always liked my stones and shiney things lol. I wear it for me, and not even all the time. Just when I'm feeling the want to. My weight fluctuates enough I have rings in a few different sizes so I'll always have one that fits.

I'm trying to make a black beaded ring, but having trouble with the ends tying securely. Going to remake it with longer end threads and tie it better. I'm not a big fan of rings, but I wanted to try this out and see how it goes.

I'm hoping to get one after I get my new glasses. (Can't see a thing LOL) I probably will just go with brushed Titanium. Something simple. I have a Dean Winchester replica type ring that will sit on the finger next to it so they'll look nice, and it'll match anything I want to wear.

I wear a sterling Celtic ring with a black stone. I bought it in Glasgow & have worn it for years & years, no one has ever asked. I pretty much always wear it.

I have a silver ring that I wear sometimes. Only sometimes, because I don't like the feeling of jewelry in general. I didn't get black because I thought that might be misrepresenting my feelings on ace-ness.

The black ring is not really a worldwide, well-known symbol for asexuality, yet! I just find it amusing, that two very opposite approaches to sex, uses the same! I know about swingers, who wears a black ring!

Everybody knows the lgbt-rainbow

A few know the purple/gray for asexuality
