Peachyy
An informed voter is a happy voter.... this quiz is good! It asks you questions (many questions, all political... of course) and gives you the percentage of agreement your answers have with the stance of those running. It's a good alternative for those who are not sure who they will vote for, and to those who may need to re-think who they will vote for--perhaps! Other research is always important as well, but even taking these questions and using them as search headers is helpful for weeding out political candidates. I thought this might be a good thing to share: 2016 Political Quiz
Lost247365
Thanks for posting. Not the first time I have seen this quiz but I think its a pretty good one. #FeelTheBern
Guest
Bernie Sanders 93% Hillary Clinton 82% Martin O'Malley 63% Rand Paul 43% Mike Huckabee 31% Ben Carson 18% Donald Trump 17% Chris Christie 16% Jeb Bush 15% Santorum, Perry, Cruz 8% each Carly Fiorina 7% Rubio & Walker 4% each Lindsey Graham 3% I am unsurprised. (Except that apparently 17% of me thinks Trump is a good candidate... and that he's less of a total mess than Jeb Bush. I'm shocked at that bit. :P) And who is this Graham person? Ten times worse than Huckabee?? That's an achievement!!!
Guest
I'm not from the US and know close to nothing about US politics but I did it anyway because I like tests, my results:
Per Aspera Ad Astra
I'm not American, nor do I live in the States, but I took the test out of curiosity (and because I was bored, let's face it). Some questions phased me a little, because I am not versed well-enough in American politics, and though the reminders were great, I wish I would have had more knowledge, especially regarding economics. So, I apparently side with Bernie Sanders the most (96%), then Hillary Clinton (87%), then Martin O'Malley (74%). No surprise there, I'm pretty far left, especially regarding social, educational and ecological stuff.
LaMaestra
Another Bernie Sanders fan here! Not American though. Neither do I live in America.
Skycaptain
I got Bernie Sanders, 85%, hilarious as I know nothing about USA politics

crazypimpernelfan
I took the quz and was ANGRY at my results because supposedly I side with Santorum--and I dislike him!! He made a racist comment and has gone against Pope Francis! I'm not voting for him at all. Grrr...
LeftyGreenMario
97% with Bernie Sanders (economic, environment, domestic policy, immigration, healthcare, social, education, and foreign policy), 93% with Hillary Clinton (domestic policy, environmental, economic, immigration, education, healthcare, and foreign policy). I don't even know who Bernie Sanders is, but we seem to agree on a lot of issues. Except for GMO labeling. XP
Guest
Not American, but I've taken this a couple times in the past few months and gotten Bernie Sanders, followed by other somewhat-lefties like Hillary. Although Hillary Clinton is nowhere near my idea of left-wing; she's practically conservative. American ideas of left-right are bizarre. I hear ya. Obama - decried as a socialist by a lot of the US right - would rate as pretty much firmly centrist by German standards, certainly not left of center in any way. Both he and Hillary aren't too far off from Angela Merkel and her Christian Democrats, which are the big center-right party in Germany. The entirety of US Republicans would rate as right wing extremists, only appealing to fringe voters... they'd have a snowball chance in Hell getting elected ruling party here. (Remember when running against Romney, Germans were a whopping 90%+ in favor of Obama. Landslide victory would not have begun to describe it. ) Bernie Sanders really is a leftie, though, even by my standards. I could certainly see myself voting for him if I were American, and would not have any tummy grumbles over it. :)
eeriesilence
I think this is one of the first times that I wholeheartedly agree with my results. + 95% Democratic - so basically; never vote for a republican. Which isn't all that surprising.

Although Hillary Clinton is nowhere near my idea of left-wing; she's practically conservative. American ideas of left-right are bizarre. People like Hillary and Obama are branded as "socialists" by some Republicans, and, as an American myself, has gotten me laughing so hard at how clueless the Republicans are. Well, I'd be laughing a lot harder if that claim held no weight among a sizable portion of the U.S. voters and politicians. I'm American and I prefer if more-left views in accordance with a lot of western European politics were taken as seriously in America and NOT branded as "socialist communist scum". Especially by the Republicans.
natsume
This test is interesting. First of all, the USA can only formally declare war on a nation. Secondly, and I dont know if they know this either but all children of illegal immigrants receive citizenship automatically. "Should the US decrease military the military budget?" Somehow I don't think that this test is scoring Hillary Clinton as a big fat no on this. On all issues on which the president has any effect Hillary Clinton and Jeb Bush are clones so this test putting them on opposite sides is pretty ridiculous. Both plan a large military expansion and campaign, a large amnesty program to ensure cheap labor, more slashes to welfare.. isn't Reagan dead yet? (And the president has nothing to do with gay marriage law, and the aca fight is also a farce)

LeftyGreenMario
Yep. I find it amusing how 'socialist' is so often considered a bad word in the States -- and how the politicians branded as socialists are usually nothing of the sort. I suppose the Red Scare and Watergate helped foster mistrust in American government, so stuff like "socialist" still leave a bad taste in people's mouths. Still irrational, though. Sally
it's not so much that Americans mistrust government. It's that our country ethos is that of the cowboy-era individualist who doesn't need anyone's help. That's completely untrue, but too many Americans think that's the true America. JLK97
Rand Paul Not a surprise. I like his father Ron better but then again I don't care for party politics. I absolutely hate Hillary and the rest of the crowd. Republicans and Democrats are basically the same when it comes centralizing power. Bernie Sanders is well meaning but economically illiterate and way too idealistic for my taste he's also not anywhere near being a socialist. I don't support government generally speaking its only purpose is to protect the elites of society through state backed privilege.
