How common is the black ring?

I have one, but I find jewelry uncomfortable to wear so I don't wear it that often. I also don't really notice rings on people so I have no idea if I've met anyone who had one. I do know several other asexuals in person and I don't think any of them wear one, as far as I know anyway.

I also don't do jewellery, mainly cuz in cant,so I opted for a black ring tattoo....

I have been thinking about it for months, but today I finally just took a piece of black cord and made myself a black ring. Sure, it isn't perfect, but it made me feel so good to wear it, even just alone inside my room...

I'm thinking of getting a black ring just to be visible for other aces in contexts outside the ace community.

My ring arrived yesterday after a really long process of trying to find one I like and then finding out my size etc. I'm really happy and excited! 😍

I don't wear rings so I'm going to try to get used to it little by little. And I hope I won't get a flood of questions about it right away. (I got a 2 mm wide ring because I don't want it to be too conspicuous. I also wanted it to be matte but I couldn't find one, at least none that wasn't horribly expensive.)

I wore it today to a public event where I ran into some friends and had lunch with them, and later to church as well. It felt good! 😀 I think I will be able to wear it every now and then despite not being used to it.

I've seen one person wear a black ring on their right middle finger, and I thought of going to them and saying 'That's a nice ring! Where did you get it? I'd like to get one, too.' It felt like something I might say to a stranger without potentially embarrasing either them or myself in a crowd. Well, I never got the chance, the situation was over too soon.

Pretty sure I spotted my first ace ring out in the wild yesterday. Was at a restaurant for lunch with my partner and I saw it on the waiter. Solid black ring, right hand, middle finger. Obviously it might not be that, but hey, it'd be neat if it was.

I wear mine when I'm in Toronto. Never been asked about it. Anywhere else I don't think it would be worthwhile (I live in a small village and the nearest city isn't exactly cutting edge).

I don't have a black ring and don't want it. I don't like rings in general. I like the flags more. :D

I did this with a hair tie for a while before ordering a black silicone ring from this site: https://aforceforgood.co/

I just started wearing one about a week ago and so far I haven’t noticed any but I just started looking. I really hope I meet another ace though because I don’t know any IRL.

I think the ace ring is a funny concept after learning that swingers use a black ring on the right hand to identify themselves to other swingers. Imagine wearing your black ring in the hopes of letting people know you are ace, and someone walks up to you and says "hey I see your black ring, want to fuck me, my wife, and our friend?" hahaha.

I believe swingers now wear a black ring on any finger BUT the right middle out of respect for the Ace community.

In answer to the question, I got mine in 2015. I've never once been asked about it and have never noticed anyone else wearing one, even at Pride events.

I'm on a large and fairly liberal college campus in the U.S. so that skews my experience but I had one run-in in a theater gen ed I was taking! One of the partners in my group project to come up with a musical concept was talking about how she's tired of all the super heavy romance/sexual stuff in every single story all the time, and I said with feeling "I very much relate". Then she kind of nodded at my ring and asked, "is that what I think it is?" I grinned and said yeah, then looked at the black ring she was wearing. She explained she had it on the "wrong" hand because of how it clashed with the other rings she was wearing. We both were quite pleased to meet another one "in the wild" ☺️

I also went to an LGBTQ+ soup night and someone noticed my black ring on my right middle finger and white ring on my left middle finger, said "I like your rings" and help up their hands to show me samesies. They said they had never actually met someone else wearing the rings before. That was another nice experience.

I also literally go to what is basically a discussion group for aspec folks. One or two of the others also wear rings.

So yeah.
