I believe that this is a necessary step for the movement to take a some point. This would provide many benefits.

1. It would get media attention
2. It would give the community a central point of organization, making it easier to collaborate on Vis/Edu. Particularly offline stuff
3. This may seem like a negative point, but it would also attract enemies which would get more media attention
4. It would gave ace/aro people a safe place to flock to when they have are experience troubling home lives
5. It would be a great place for ace/aro people to form lasting relationships

Sadly this wouldn't help many of us, for we're all over the world and although the majority of AVENites are in North America, not many can or will travel across the region on a regular basis. World Prides and such is your best start....

Here in the UK we're trying to do an annual park meet. This year will be our second one in Hyde Park London.

It's hard, due to how spread out the asexual community really is. But, as others have mentioned, small asexual groups are beginning to form up... meetups, mainly, for now. It would be nice to have more asexual spaces, but it's going to take time to get the resources for that. :)

without a doubt this would require a commit of several hundred people. The things that we have been doing so far are fine, but at some point I believe this will be a necessary step for the movement to take. I am not sure that we will be able to reach a point of total ace awareness in a reasonable time frame without a physical community. And honestly the sooner the better.

I'm attracted to the idea of some sort of semi-communal housing with other asexuals... I would need my own space, but it would be nice to have companionship nearby with people who are on the same page, and I would enjoy contributing to the group.

I would like to be a part of local physical asexual group more than say in a personal relationship with someone-one. A local group of some 15-30 people, which could be a part of broader international net. Meanwhile, there are no signs of something like this happening in my local area. How to start out of empty - I do not know.

I've actually been working on a map to use as a tool for this very reason!

I have it set up so you can either find a group nearby or you cans find people in your area who have added themselves on the map, get in contact with them and form your own groups!
