Were you picked on for being A?

It's funny, but, time and again, I've found that if you genuinely don't care what people think then they will leave you alone, whereas if you show even slight nervousness about anything they will pick up on it and bully you mercilessly.

Friendly tip: Doesn't work if you're in the front row at a standup comedy club for the late saturday night show. (I still had a great time, but man, he just wouldn't let it go.)

Other than that, yeah, I totally agree.

As for the original question, no, not really. My high school was very clique-y, and while I'm sure I was occasionally made fun of by some, nobody ever really made fun of it to my face.

I don't recall being picked on too often in school. I was one of the smart kids, and I got called "four-eyes" occasionally because I had glasses, but I had made a point of being eccentric and unapproachable so I don't think they knew quite what to make of me. They called me the "Bird Woman" but I appreciated that and thanked them for it! Poor confused kids ...

My highschool (grades 10-12) had over 3000 students, so I was essentialy invisible except in art class, where I was noticed but respected.

My high school had an extra grade, but still was the same size. Even with the massive size, there's still those few punks in PE class that seek you out, or so that was the case with me.

That's a big high school, all right. But mine was even bigger. Especially in my freshman year. I think it got close to 4,500 if I remember correctly. I think it shrunk a little in later years but I still believe it's at least at 4,000 students.

 Jeez, my high school has approximately eighty kids. My senior class is officially the biggest in the school's history with thirty-four.

In my class there are 25 students me included. Can you imagine that? And I thought we were class of mediate proportion. Well, apparently I have been mistaken.

I didn't really get picked on, people didn't care that I existed enough to pick on me...

No, seriously, I was also one of the fat smart kids, and I think that people probably just assumed I was too ugly to have sex rather than not actually wanting to, or something like that. Hell, that's what I thought for a while.

My school was very non-sexualised though - I went to a selective all girls school, and if there was any flirting or sex going on, it was out of school time, and as I didn't socialise with many people from school outside school time (partly because I lived in a town a fair way away from where the school was) I don't suppose they knew what I got up to.

In school I was teased because I was smart, fat, or had a hump on my back. My uncle and some of his friends make fun of me because I tell them I'm never going to have sex. Luckily one of his friends, a very sexual person, is nice, and respects my decisions. He was the first person to truly take me seriously when I explained my A-ness.

Good Lord, my own classes at school had never more than 10-12 boys in them.

Well, I was never picked on THAT much, which is frankly amazing because I happen to have Asperger's Syndrome--meaning that my social skills are pretty much nil. Gah.

I moved after fifth grade, and when I got to middle school, I made some WONDERFUL friends. Close-knit, absolutely loyal, the works. Considering that this is MIDDLE SCHOOL and I'm FEMALE, this was excellent. Once I had my friends, I didn't really pay attention to what other people said about me. I do know that I was asked if I was a lesbian a few times--which ended badly for the questioner (this was generally asked in a nasty way)--because I wear my hair pretty short, don't wear makeup, and am not interested in guys.

Aside from that, people learned pretty quickly after I verbally dissected a girl who had been attempting to make my life hell for the better part of two years--and not succeeding, I might add--that I wasn't someone to be bothered.

Well I was and still am rather picked on because I'm fat,way too smart(atleast for them),had glasses,am short (still only 1.60),had no interest in their socializing thingies like parties, don't listen to music and of course because I have no interest in girls at all.All around I represented almost everything somebody could pick on but fortunatly Germany has a three devided middle/highschool system where the dumb ones go on one seperate school, the avarage ones on a seperated school and the rather intelligent ones on a seperated school so there weren't many jocks and idiots who pick on me.

I was in a class of three people. We started with five, and ended with three. The two others were a couple, and one of the teachers was her father.

Do people create a distance when they know you're asexual?

TOILETMAN our school had an exchange programm with a German school for a week, and boy, what did WE SAW... Those guys were... Well I hope they came from one of the lesser schools then

Most exchanges here are made with exchange agencies and not over the german school so he could be from any school but on the real highschool there are some total morons aswell they just could cheat them until there :P

I say, they visited our geography-teachroom, and one of 'em claimed the maps was wrong because they 'had switched Poland and Germany'.

:megalol:

PS they were 19-21 years old (yeah, and still in highschool)

19 and sometimes even 20 is normal since in Germany we have one schoolyear more.21 would be once repeated but it doesn't mean anything since you sometimes have to repeat if you're bad in sports, arts or music...

In Belgium you are requiered to follow an extra year if you want to go to university and have not done 'normal' high school (which means when you have followed technical or professional directions you have to do extra - I myself did Greek-Latin so no prob there, still strange to see a guy 2 years older thinking his own country is Poland)

Ah well stupidity hits all societies... Besides, Germans are cool! Jawohl!
